Wakuli

Noord-Holland, Nederland

Food & Beverage Product Developer.

FULL TIMEENGINEERING€4,000–5,000/MO

As F&B Product Developer, you are the creative mind and the hands in our test kitchen. You dream up new drinks and food, test them until they are just right, and turn them into products that work in a busy bar, whether that’s a quick stop in a station or a slow morning in one of our neighbourhood cafés. You think in flavours and in numbers alike, and you make sure every product is as good on the hundredth day as on the first.

You join the Product Team in a fast growing Specialty Coffee company, with plenty of room to put your stamp on the menu and grow with us.

You would be working from our roastery in Watergang, just outside of Amsterdam Noord.

About Wakuli

We are building the future of coffee. One that is seriously good for drinkers, farmers and the planet.

How? By working directly with farmer groups around the world. We set up transparent, traceable export lines, freshly roast ourselves and serve the coffee straight to customers. These short supply chains make sure we can always pay farmers a good price, while also investing in fully regenerative coffee production.

You’ll find us in bars across the Netherlands, and online through our own platform. For customers, that means freshly roasted specialty coffee that’s easy to get, and just seriously delicious.

We are building the future of coffee with a team of like-minded people from all over the world. And we’re looking for you.

As F&B Product Developer at Wakuli, you own what lands on our in-store menu, across both drinks and food. You develop our seasonal drink menu, including our famous specials, and you build out our food offer, from the next sweet treat on the counter to savoury toasties.

You take each product from first idea through to the moment it is launch-ready: spotting the trend, developing and testing the recipe, sourcing the ingredients, costing it to margin, and making sure it works at scale in every bar. You combine a strong sense of taste and what's next with the discipline to deliver something that earns its place on the menu and keeps earning it.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and improve our food offer and our special drinks menu.

  • Find the ingredients and suppliers each recipe needs during development, including hard-to-find items.

  • Calculate ingredient list, quantities and cost for each item.

  • Produce a production-ready spec for every launch: recipe, scaling, shelf life and allergens.

  • Create the training (in person or material) so baristas across all bars make each product the same way.

  • Hand each product over at the launch-ready gate with a complete spec sheet.

  • Be ahead of trends in food and beverage.

What you bring

  • Min. 4-5 years of experience in recipe creation and food development: a development chef, R&D or NPD kitchen background, or similar.

  • Creative, with a strong palate and a genuine love of food and drink.

  • Comfortable with the business half: recipe costing, quantity scaling, spec sheets.

  • Organised: you can run several briefs and timelines at once without dropping detail.

  • Working knowledge of food safety, HACCP, allergens and nutritional data.

  • Hands-on: as at home in a test kitchen as writing a spec.

  • Experience scaling recipes across multiple locations.

  • Coffee / Specialty Coffee knowledge is a strong plus

What we offer

  • A challenging role within a dynamic and growing company

  • The opportunity to take ownership of product development and make a tangible impact on our business

  • Opportunities to grow and deepen your knowledge in Specialty Coffee

  • A friendly, supportive team passionate about coffee excellence

  • Pioneering, a lot of responsibility and a steep learning curve

  • The best coffee and direct access to all relevant information, including interaction with our farmer partners worldwide

  • Talented international and impact-driven colleagues with a great team spirit

  • €4000 - €5000 monthly pay (depending on experience / based on full-time)
