Company Profile

At Sand Cherry Associates, we excel in the design and delivery of strategic customer-centric initiatives through digitally native, data-empowered solutions.  Our client’s confidence in us is centered on exceptionally skilled, high-energy talent working with the support of the full Sand Cherry team.  Finding the right match for this role is a critical aspect of continuing that success.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to help lead a highly visible, critical telecom program focused on delivering automation across engineering activities. This individual will drive program execution, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and support the delivery of innovative technical solutions across operations, engineering, and software development environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in telecom or cable operations, software development, and technical program delivery, along with financial acumen and exceptional executive communication skills. This role requires a confident, adaptable leader who can quickly learn complex engineering concepts, navigate ambiguity, and drive results in a fast-paced environment. This is a remote opportunity. All qualified candidates must be authorized to work without visa sponsorship or visa transfers. Please note that we do not work C2C.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the delivery of a critical program focused on automating engineering activities and processes.
  • Manage program scope, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
  • Partner with engineering, software development, and operations teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise communications for senior executives and business stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level presentations, program updates, financial models, and strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor program financials, budgets, business cases, and financial models to support informed decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and engineering automation.
  • Quickly develop an understanding of new engineering concepts, technical architectures, and hardware-related terminology to effectively lead program discussions and decisions.
  • Proactively identify risks, remove obstacles, and drive accountability across cross-functional teams.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and maintain momentum across a highly visible and strategically important initiative.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience leading technical programs or projects within the telecommunications, cable, software development, or technology operations industries.
  • Previous experience delivering new technical programs, engineering initiatives, or automation-related projects.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, software development environments, and technical program delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience working with financial models, budgets, business cases, and program economics.
  • Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation skills, with the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong executive presence and confidence interacting with senior leadership.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to unfamiliar technical concepts, including hardware, engineering, and architecture terminology.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented, proactive, persistent, and results-driven, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, confidence, and emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive accountability, and maintain execution momentum without direct authority.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
