SENIOR LEVELSALES & MARKETING
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 12 The Team: We are a collaborative, commercially focused sales team driving growth across European financial markets. We value intellectual curiosity, strategic agility, inclusive teamwork, and a shared commitment to delivering excellent outcomes for our clients. You will work closely with colleagues across Sales, Product, Pre-Sales, and Client Experience in an environment that encourages continuous professional development, knowledge-sharing, and a strong connection between our day-to-day work and S&P Global’s purpose and values. The Impact: As a Senior Sales Specialist, you will play an important role in expanding our Lending Solutions and Financial Risk Analytics businesses across Europe. You will help financial institutions address complex lending and risk-management challenges by connecting them with relevant software, analytics, and managed-service solutions. Your work will directly contribute to new business, client growth, and sustainable revenue. By bringing an enterprise perspective, monitoring market trends, and connecting sales activity to our wider strategy, you will help strengthen S&P Global’s position as a trusted partner to the financial services industry. What’s in it for You: A competitive remuneration package, including an annual incentive plan and comprehensive employee benefits. The opportunity to take ownership of a strategically important European sales territory and contribute directly to the growth of our Lending Solutions and Financial Risk Analytics portfolios. Direct exposure to senior executives, industry decision-makers, and other influential stakeholders across European financial institutions. Continuous professional development and structured career-growth opportunities within a global market intelligence leader. A collaborative, inclusive environment in which you can share your expertise, coach colleagues, and learn from specialists across multiple functions and geographies. A hybrid working model that supports flexibility while maintaining strong collaboration and team connectivity. Responsibilities: Own and deliver against an agreed sales quota across Lending Solutions and Financial Risk Analytics, winning new business and expanding relationships with existing clients. Manage complex B2B sales cycles from qualification through to close, including discovery, stakeholder engagement, solution positioning, client presentations, tailored demonstrations, commercial negotiations, and contracting. Build and maintain a robust, high-quality pipeline through strategic prospecting, disciplined account planning, accurate forecasting, and a clear understanding of client priorities across European financial institutions. Partner with Product, Pre-Sales, Client Experience, and other internal stakeholders to develop effective go-to-market, client-retention, and account-growth strategies, building consensus where priorities compete. Apply sound commercial judgment and an enterprise perspective by monitoring external market trends, adapting to changing client needs, and aligning sales execution with regional objectives and S&P Global’s long-term strategy. Share expertise and coach colleagues on complex opportunities where appropriate. All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week What We're Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 5+ years of experience covering financial institutions across Europe and managing complex B2B sales cycles. Track record of developing pipeline, winning new business and growing existing accounts. Proven experience selling software, data, analytics, managed services, or other technology solutions to financial institutions such as banks, asset managers, or private credit firms. Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to understand client requirements, develop compelling value propositions, and lead complex negotiations through to a successful conclusion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly and adapt presentations and messaging for senior executives, technical specialists, and other stakeholder groups. Demonstrated emotional intelligence and active listening skills, with the ability to understand different perspectives, navigate challenging conversations, and build trusted relationships. Strong collaboration and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence across functions and geographies and build consensus among groups with competing priorities. Effective planning and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, adapt as requirements change, and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed deadlines. Based in London or Paris, with a willingness to travel across Europe. Fluent English. We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer. Additional Preferred Qualifications: French and/or Spanish language skills would be preferable. In-depth knowledge of lending workflows, private credit markets, loan administration processes, or financial risk-management practices. Experience engaging senior business, risk, technology, and operations stakeholders. Strong adaptability and creative problem-solving skills, including the ability to make well-informed decisions when operating with incomplete information or in changing, non-routine market conditions. A leadership and development mindset, demonstrated through coaching colleagues, sharing professional expertise, championing team initiatives, and helping others improve their performance.
