Marketing Operations Associate.

FULL TIMEREMOTESALES & MARKETING$91K–155K/YR

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Marketing Operations Associate based in the United States.

As a Marketing Operations Associate, you will play a key role in managing and optimizing the marketing technology infrastructure that supports growing business operations and expanding product offerings. You will take ownership of campaign execution, marketing automation, database management, and performance reporting, ensuring that marketing initiatives are efficient, scalable, and measurable. Working primarily with Marketo, Salesforce, Marketo Measure, and Looker, you will build and maintain the systems that power email campaigns, lead nurturing, audience segmentation, and marketing attribution. You will collaborate with a dynamic marketing team to translate business objectives into effective technical solutions while maintaining data accuracy and operational excellence. This hands-on position offers significant ownership, opportunities to improve processes, and the chance to contribute to a rapidly evolving technology-driven environment. You will also have the opportunity to leverage artificial intelligence to streamline workflows, solve problems, and continuously improve marketing operations.

Accountabilities:

  • Build, configure, test, and launch email programs, lead nurturing workflows, forms, and marketing campaigns within Marketo.
  • Manage Marketo administration, including program architecture, smart campaigns, operational programs, templates, and forms.
  • Maintain standardized program templates, naming conventions, and folder structures to ensure consistency, scalability, and accurate reporting.
  • Execute database imports and audience segmentation, making informed decisions regarding targeting, source tagging, and campaign organization.
  • Maintain database health by managing deduplication, data normalization, suppression lists, consent preferences, and email deliverability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data synchronization between Marketo and Salesforce, ensuring accurate and reliable information across both platforms.
  • Manage Salesforce campaign creation and configuration to support marketing initiatives and improve campaign tracking.
  • Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of lead scoring models and lifecycle management processes across marketing and CRM systems.
  • Develop and maintain campaign performance dashboards and reports using Salesforce and Looker to measure marketing effectiveness.
  • Support marketing attribution initiatives and the implementation and optimization of Marketo Measure.
  • Manage incoming marketing operations requests, prioritizing competing demands and delivering projects within agreed service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Identify opportunities to improve marketing workflows, automation processes, data quality, and technology utilization.
  • Use AI-powered tools to accelerate campaign development, troubleshoot technical issues, improve documentation, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Take ownership of projects from initial requirements gathering through implementation, quality assurance, execution, and performance measurement.
  • Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to understand business objectives, recommend appropriate technical solutions, and ensure successful campaign delivery.
  • Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in marketing operations, with hands-on responsibility for managing and administering Marketo.
  • Demonstrated experience building and executing marketing automation programs independently, rather than simply submitting requests to a marketing operations team.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, particularly campaign management, lead and contact objects, and data synchronization between Salesforce and marketing automation platforms.
  • Ability to translate marketing requests and business objectives into effective technical solutions, independently managing implementation and delivery.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify inconsistencies in databases, reports, campaign performance, and system integrations.
  • Solid understanding of marketing automation, audience segmentation, lead nurturing, campaign execution, database management, and marketing performance measurement.
  • Experience maintaining data quality, including deduplication, normalization, suppression management, consent management, and deliverability practices.
  • Familiarity with lead scoring, lifecycle management, campaign attribution, and marketing reporting processes.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to improve productivity, troubleshoot workflows, accelerate campaign builds, create documentation, and solve operational challenges.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to document technical processes, explain decisions, and communicate effectively with different stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests and deliver accurate work within established deadlines.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and resourceful approach, with a strong sense of ownership and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively within a small, diverse, and fast-moving team.
  • Nice to Have:

  • Marketo Certified Expert qualification.
  • Experience with Marketo Measure or a comparable marketing attribution platform.
  • Familiarity with Looker or another business intelligence and reporting tool.
  • Experience supporting multiple business lines, customer segments, or target audiences.
  • Previous experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, accounting software, or professional services.
  • Benefits:

  • Competitive annual base salary: $91,000–$155,000 for most remote locations.
  • Higher geographic salary range: $114,000–$155,000 for candidates based in San Francisco, California, or New York City, New York.
  • Final compensation depends on experience, expertise, geographic location, market conditions, and overall compensation considerations.
  • Equity opportunities for eligible full-time employees.
  • Comprehensive health benefits and additional wellness benefits.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan.
  • Flexible vacation and paid time-off policy.
  • All federal holidays observed.
  • Paid parental leave for birthing and non-birthing parents, offering 12 weeks at 100% pay.
  • Investment in employee development, learning, and professional growth.
  • Opportunity to work alongside an experienced founding team with a strong entrepreneurial background.
  • Dynamic and collaborative working environment with opportunities to take ownership and influence operational improvements.
  • Remote working flexibility, supporting collaboration and work-life balance.
