Builder Product II.

FULL TIMEREMOTEPRODUCT

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Builder Product II based in the United States.

As a Builder Product II, you will help transform residential construction software through innovative AI-native product development and agentic technologies. You will focus on modernizing ERP solutions for residential home builders, translating complex construction workflows into precise, executable missions for product and engineering teams. Working at the intersection of Product Management, AI, Engineering, and UX Research, you will drive the development of intelligent capabilities that simplify estimating, purchasing, scheduling, and job costing. You will leverage large language models, autonomous agent frameworks, and data-driven insights to accelerate discovery, improve prioritization, and deliver measurable customer value. A key part of your mission will be improving collaboration between home builders and building material dealers through more connected and automated workflows. This is an opportunity to challenge traditional product management practices, work alongside AI-focused specialists, and shape the future of enterprise software in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Define and develop structured mission specifications that replace traditional product requirements documents, clearly outlining agent objectives, system behaviors, tool constraints, success criteria, evaluation methods, and failure conditions.
  • Collaborate with Industry Product Managers and Value Stream Product Managers to align product initiatives with strategic objectives, customer requirements, and key performance indicators.
  • Translate complex residential construction and ERP business processes into structured system prompts, agent instructions, behavioral constraints, and executable technical specifications.
  • Work with subject matter experts to understand residential construction workflows, including estimating, purchasing, scheduling, job costing, and builder-dealer interactions, translating their expertise into reliable AI-driven capabilities.
  • Partner with UX Research teams to define effective agentic user experiences, including conversational behavior, tone, escalation paths, failure handling, and generative user interface requirements.
  • Collaborate with QA Builders to establish evaluation frameworks, datasets, measurable acceptance criteria, and ground-truth definitions that assess AI-generated outputs against real construction and ERP business logic.
  • Conduct rapid AI-assisted prototyping by developing and testing prompt chains and agent workflows to validate product concepts before committing development resources.
  • Leverage AI to analyze customer research, support tickets, product usage telemetry, interview transcripts, and other business signals to identify opportunities and prioritize product improvements.
  • Own and continuously optimize the product modernization backlog, using customer impact, usage data, support volume, codebase complexity, and strategic objectives to determine which legacy capabilities should be modernized.
  • Define agent goals, behavioral requirements, and technical constraints that enable engineering teams to execute development missions efficiently and with minimal ambiguity.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline communication and data exchange between residential builders and building material dealers, replacing manual processes such as phone calls and spreadsheets with connected digital workflows.
  • Support the transformation of legacy ERP functionality into modern, intelligent, and automated product capabilities that improve operational efficiency and customer experiences.
  • Establish measurable testing and validation processes to ensure agentic solutions meet requirements for accuracy, reliability, and operational safety.
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and UX Research teams to accelerate delivery, improve collaboration, and ensure that product enhancements generate meaningful customer value.
  • Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in Product Management, AI product development, technical product ownership, business analysis, or a related role involving complex enterprise software and business workflows.
  • Strong understanding of AI-native product development, including practical experience using Large Language Models (LLMs) for product discovery, requirements definition, prioritization, and workflow automation.
  • Experience translating complex business requirements into structured, testable specifications, system prompts, agent instructions, and measurable acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI concepts and autonomous agent architectures, including an understanding of LangChain and LangGraph, particularly state machines, agent orchestration, and behavioral constraints.
  • Ability to distinguish between AI demonstrations and production-ready agentic solutions, with a strong focus on reliability, safety, measurable performance, and operational correctness.
  • Understanding of ERP systems and enterprise software, ideally with knowledge of residential construction processes such as estimating, purchasing, scheduling, inventory management, subcontractor coordination, and job costing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to understand complex business logic and translate domain expertise into practical technical solutions.
  • Experience using AI tools to synthesize user research, analyze customer feedback, review support data, and identify product opportunities.
  • Familiarity with Python for prompt scripting and evaluation tooling, as well as SQL for querying and understanding ERP data.
  • Knowledge of OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, LangChain, LangGraph, and DSPy or comparable frameworks for agent development and programmatic evaluation.
  • Familiarity with GitHub for specification versioning and collaboration, as well as Weights & Biases or similar platforms for model evaluation, observability, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience defining evaluation datasets, testing methodologies, ground-truth standards, and quantitative quality measures for AI-generated outputs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers, Engineers, QA specialists, UX Researchers, and subject matter experts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and business concepts clearly and translate them into actionable development missions.
  • A proactive, independent, and experimentation-driven mindset, with a willingness to challenge traditional product management practices and continuously improve established processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to technical rigor, ensuring AI-powered capabilities are validated against real-world requirements rather than assumptions.
  • Genuine curiosity about residential construction, enterprise software, and the opportunities AI creates to modernize complex operational workflows.
  • Benefits:

  • Fully remote working environment within the United States.
  • Opportunity to shape the future of residential construction software through AI-native and agentic product development.
  • Significant ownership over product missions, specifications, prioritization, and success criteria.
  • Opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team of AI-focused product and technical professionals.
  • Exposure to advanced AI technologies, autonomous agent frameworks, and modern product development methodologies.
  • Collaborative environment involving Product, Engineering, UX Research, and Quality Assurance specialists.
  • Opportunity to solve complex enterprise challenges and modernize mission-critical residential construction workflows.
  • Professional growth through hands-on experimentation, technical innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Opportunity to influence product strategy, development processes, and the evolution of AI-powered enterprise software.
