Analista de Governança de Dados e IA Sênior.

FULL TIMEREMOTEDATA & ML

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data & AI Governance Analyst based in Brazil.

Join a multidisciplinary team driving the development and maturity of data and AI governance across an organization. In this senior role, you will establish and evolve policies, processes, standards, and best practices for managing data throughout its lifecycle. You will oversee metadata management, data quality, access controls, privacy, and responsible AI practices, helping ensure that data assets remain secure, reliable, and accessible. Working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders, you will connect governance initiatives with broader data and AI strategies. You will also guide other professionals, promote data literacy, and strengthen self-service analytics capabilities. This is an opportunity to shape governance practices in a collaborative, fast-moving fintech environment.

Accountabilities

As a Senior Data & AI Governance Analyst, you will lead governance initiatives from design through implementation, ensuring that data and AI assets are properly managed, documented, protected, and aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.

    • Execute end-to-end data and AI governance initiatives, defining policies, responsibilities, standards, and best practices across the data lifecycle.

    • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, including Data Owner and Data Steward roles, to clarify accountability throughout the organization.

    • Act as a technical reference for junior and mid-level analysts and Analytics Engineers, guiding governance implementation and promoting consistent practices.

    • Lead the corporate data catalog using tools such as Unity Catalog and OpenMetadata, overseeing metadata, data classification, lineage, and business glossaries.

    • Drive documentation and adoption of cataloging practices across teams and business areas that consume data.

    • Design and implement role-based access control (RBAC) models and access lifecycle processes, standardizing groups in collaboration with Data Engineering and Identity and Access Management teams.

    • Establish data quality frameworks, including service-level agreements (SLAs), observability practices, and incident response processes for critical datasets.

    • Implement and manage cost governance for the analytical sandbox environment, developing showback models and usage policies with technical stakeholders.

    • Lead regulatory and privacy governance initiatives related to BACEN requirements and Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD).

    • Support audits by developing regulatory data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and data quality controls in collaboration with relevant teams.

    • Define governance standards for predictive AI, including inventories, model cards, and monitoring processes.

    • Establish responsible governance practices for generative AI, including AI inventories and usage guidelines, in partnership with technical and Information Security teams.

    • Develop governance indicators and dashboards covering platform KPIs, FinOps, and adoption to support leadership decision-making.

    • Promote data literacy and secure self-service BI practices in collaboration with People teams and Data squads.

    • Requirements

The ideal candidate combines strong expertise in data and AI governance with practical knowledge of modern data platforms, security, regulatory requirements, and organizational data management practices.

      • Proven experience in data and AI governance, including policies, processes, standards, metadata management, and data cataloging.

      • Experience with Databricks and Unity Catalog, or equivalent platforms, covering data assets, metadata, classification, access controls, lineage, and auditing.

      • Knowledge of relational and multidimensional data modeling.

      • Understanding of Medallion Architecture and its Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.

      • Experience working with Data Lake and Data Lakehouse environments, from ingestion through data consumption, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities.

      • Experience designing and implementing data access management models, including RBAC and least-privilege principles.

      • Knowledge of Information Security best practices and LGPD requirements throughout the data lifecycle.

      • Strong SQL skills for diagnostics, access audits, and automation of governance indicators.

      • Experience defining KPIs and building dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Lakeview, or Metabase.

      • Applied knowledge of data management frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK or similar methodologies.

      • Understanding of Data Mesh architecture, DataOps/MLOps, and organizational data operating models such as Hub-and-Spoke.

      • Practical experience using generative AI and AI agents to automate tasks and improve workflows.

      • Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field.

      • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical teams and business areas.

      • The following qualifications are considered an advantage:

        • Experience with OpenMetadata for data discovery, exploration, and cataloging.

        • Knowledge of Python or PySpark for governance automation.

        • Certifications in data management or privacy, such as CDMP/DAMA, DCAM, or IAPP.

        • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, particularly for documenting and mapping current-state (AS-IS) processes.
