About the role
As Cook A at 91 Athens Riviera, you will be a key member of our culinary team, preparing high quality dishes, upholding our kitchen standards and helping the kitchen run efficiently. The role calls for advanced cooking skills, creativity and a strong commitment to food safety.
What you will do
Kitchen operations
- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes with a focus on quality, taste and presentation, following standard recipes and portion sizes.
- Monitor quality throughout cooking, tasting dishes and adjusting seasoning and ingredients as needed.
- Work with the Head Chef or Executive Chef on new dishes and help deliver seasonal and special menus, adapting to guest preferences and dietary requirements.
Teamwork and training
- Coordinate with the kitchen team for timely service.
- Mentor and train less experienced cooks and kitchen team members.
- Share your knowledge of cooking techniques and best practice.
Health and safety
- Keep the kitchen clean and organised and follow all health and safety regulations to ensure food safety.
Requirements
What you will bring
- At least 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in high volume or fine dining.
- Proven skill in a range of cooking techniques and cuisines.
- Thorough knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations and kitchen procedures.
- Very good spoken English.
- Good computer skills, including MS Office.
- The ability to work under pressure and manage several priorities in a fast paced kitchen.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork.
- The ability to build strong working relationships within the hotel and across the group.
- A culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognised culinary school is desirable.
- A second foreign language is desirable.
