Position Details: SE Weekender - Licensed Practical Nurse Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO Department: Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) Status: Part-Time - 24hrs/week Shift: 12 Hour Nights - Scheduled Weekends 1900-0730 ***Position may be sign-on bonus eligible up to $2,000*** Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure. Experience: Experience preferred but not required. Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri. Other unit specific certifications as required. Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements. Physical Requirements/Demands: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes.
