Fraud Analyst.

FULL TIMEFINANCE & LEGAL

We are seeking a proactive and technically proficient Fraud Analyst to join our Anti-Financial Crime Department. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing, implementing and managing the Company's fraud detection and prevention framework, with responsibility for the configuration and ongoing optimisation of fraud monitoring systems.

This is a hands-on position requiring practical experience in fraud detection technologies, transaction monitoring and the development of risk-based fraud rules. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external technology providers, the Fraud Analyst will contribute to strengthening the Company's fraud prevention capabilities, ensuring effective controls within a dynamic and regulated fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the functional implementation, configuration and ongoing administration of fraud detection and transaction monitoring platforms.

  • Design, develop, test and optimise fraud detection rules, transaction thresholds, risk indicators and behavioural monitoring scenarios, ensuring alignment with the Company's risk exposure and transaction activity.

  • Analyse transactional data, customer behaviour and emerging fraud typologies to identify vulnerabilities, suspicious patterns and opportunities to strengthen preventive controls.

  • Conduct hands-on fraud monitoring, alert investigation and case analysis, escalating suspected fraudulent activities and recommending appropriate preventive or corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with IT, Operations, and external technology providers to support system integration, testing, troubleshooting and effective implementation of fraud prevention tools.

  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of fraud rules and monitoring scenarios, minimising false positives while maintaining strong fraud detection capabilities.

  • Maintain appropriate documentation, management reporting and audit trails, supporting compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies and the Company's anti-financial crime framework.

Talent Profile

  • A qualification in Fraud Detection, Financial Crime, Risk Management or a related discipline. A Certificate in Behavioural Fraud Detection and Analytics, or a comparable professional certification, is highly desirable.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in fraud detection, fraud prevention or transaction monitoring, preferably within banking, payments, fintech or another regulated financial services environment.

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in implementing, configuring or administering fraud detection systems and fraud risk management platforms.

  • Proven ability to develop, test and fine-tune fraud rules, monitoring scenarios and transaction risk indicators, with a sound understanding of fraud typologies and behavioural analytics.

  • Strong analytical and technical capabilities, including the ability to interpret transactional data, identify unusual patterns and translate fraud risks into effective system controls.

  • Good understanding of payment systems, card transactions, digital banking and relevant regulatory requirements, including fraud prevention and anti-financial crime obligations.

  • A proactive, detail-oriented and solutions-driven professional with strong investigative skills, sound judgement and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.

  • Strong understanding of emerging payment methods, associated fraud risks and evolving fraud typologies, with the ability to anticipate potential vulnerabilities and implement effective fraud prevention measures.
