Husqvarna Construction is exploring how Generative AI can support early phases in product development through customer understanding, technology scouting, concept generation, knowledge reuse and engineering decision-making. A key focus is how AI can enable rapid learning loops, frequent iterations and exploration of multiple solution alternatives before committing to a concept. Thesis Objective Assess how pre-development is performed today, identify bottlenecks and opportunities, investigate where AI creates value, evaluate AI support for concept generation, trade-off analysis and knowledge reuse, explore AI support for Set-Based Concurrent Engineering (SBCE), and develop a Proof-of-Concept demonstrator.
