We are looking for a Head of Customs and Logistics to manage JoomPro's logistics and customs operations in Brazil, lead a team, and drive continuous improvement across customs clearance, certification, and warehouse coordination.
Responsibilities
- Manage and control the full scope of Brazil logistics operations: customs clearance, logistics providers, certification, and warehouse coordination
- Own relationships with logistics providers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers; negotiate tariffs and service levels
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new logistics and customs partners on an ongoing basis
- Build and refine operational processes with each partner based on hands-on analysis of performance data
- Track delivery performance and benchmark contracted rates against the market to drive continuous improvement
- Lead and develop the local logistics and customs team
Requirements
- Hands-on experience managing international logistics operations
- End-to-end expertise in customs clearance operations
- Proven track record leading and developing operational logistics teams
- Experience finding new logistics/customs partners and negotiating tariffs and contracts
- Comfortable working through day-to-day operational details as well as high-level strategy
- Fluent English and Portuguese
Preferred
- Background in a retail company importing from China, at a logistics/customs service provider, or at a Comex company
- Familiarity with Brazilian import modalities such as Importação por Encomenda and Importação por Conta e Ordem
