The Vita Coco Company

New York, NY

Director of 3Pl Warehouse Operations.

LEADERSHIPPEOPLE & OPS

Vita Coco is the leading coconut water brand in the world, built on a simple idea: bring better-for-you, natural hydration to more people. Since starting in 2004, we’ve grown into a global business with teams in New York, London, and Singapore, and we’re now publicly traded on NASDAQ under COCO.

As a Public Benefit Corporation and Certified B Corp, we’re committed to supporting farming communities, sourcing responsibly, and building products that are better for people and the planet. We move fast, stay scrappy, and care deeply about doing the right thing.

We’re now looking for someone who’s excited to join a growing, purpose-driven company and help shape what comes next.

Our Values:

  • Human First: We lead with inclusivity, transparency, and empathy.
  • Nothing is Impossible: We experiment, learn, and keep moving forward.
  • United by Our Will to Win: We stay aligned, work collaboratively, and push toward shared goals.
  • Part of Something Bigger: We’re committed to uplifting the communities we’re connected to locally and globally

The Director of 3PL Warehouse Operations is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the company’s third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse network, including warehouse operations, 3PL performance management, operating costs, current and new partner evaluation, contract negotiations, and onboarding of new warehouse locations or providers.

The Director will serve as the primary operational leader and escalation point for 3PL warehousing partners, ensuring that external warehouse operations consistently meet company expectations for safety, quality, productivity, customer service, technology and cost. This position will work cross-functionally with Demand, Transportation, Customer Service, Finance, IT, and our internal warehouse management team to optimize the end-to-end distribution operation.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, data-driven operations leader with strong experience managing 3PL relationships, warehouse operations, contract negotiations, performance management, and continuous improvement.

3PL Operations & Performance

  • Provide strategic oversight of all 3PL warehouse operations, including service levels, KPIs, OTIF, capacity, staffing, and operational performance.
  • Lead performance reviews, escalations, corrective actions, and business continuity planning.
  • Ensure consistent standards, accountability, and continuous improvement across the 3PL network.

3PL Strategy, Procurement & Implementation

  • Lead 3PL sourcing, RFPs, evaluations, due diligence, site assessments, negotiations, contracting, and partner selection.
  • Manage total cost, service capabilities, technology, capacity, scalability, and risk when evaluating providers.
  • Lead implementation and transition of new 3PL facilities, ensuring operational and system readiness.

Cost, Inventory & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage warehouse costs, budgets, pricing, contracts, and cost-to-serve initiatives.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy, control, availability, and reconciliation across all facilities.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process, productivity, labor, technology, automation, and network optimization.
  • Continually evaluate pricing within the existing network to identify savings opportunities.

Systems, Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee WMS, ERP, EDI, reporting, dashboards, and system integrations across 3PL partners.
  • Establish visibility into inventory, orders, capacity, productivity, costs, and service levels.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, security, insurance, regulatory, and company standards.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop Warehouse Manager and Inventory Control Coordinators to drive performance and career growth.
  • Build strong relationships with 3PL leadership and partner across Supply Chain, Transportation, Finance, Procurement, IT, Legal, and Customer Service.
  • Communicate performance, risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • 5+ years of experience managing 3PL providers and multi-site warehouse operations.
  • Proven experience with 3PL sourcing, RFPs, contract negotiations, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, labor, fulfillment, and distribution.
  • Experience managing budgets, costs, KPIs, SLAs, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with WMS, ERP, EDI, and supply-chain technology.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety, quality, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to travel to 3PL and business locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS/ASCM, CPIM, CSCP, Lean, or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience managing a national or multi-region 3PL network.
  • Experience with warehouse network optimization, facility launches, automation, or technology implementations.
  • Experience developing cost-to-serve, cost of goods sold, and total-cost-of-operation analyses.
