Seeking an agile, versatile Full Stack Data & Analytics Specialist to serve as our sole internal data problem-solver. In this role, you will be our analytical Swiss Army knife—owning the full spectrum of data from raw system extraction and SQL warehousing to building Power BI models and delivering actionable business investigations across operations, purchasing, and sales.
We do not expect you to have 10 years of specialized demand planning experience or an academic degree in database architecture. Instead, we are looking for a pragmatic, high-aptitude generalist who possesses strong core fundamentals (SQL, relational data modeling, Power BI/DAX, and practical scripting) and actively uses modern AI developer tools (Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) as a force multiplier to quickly master new business domains, write scripts, and build functional solutions.
Immediate Priority: First 90–120 Days
Currently, our business data relies on localized scriptlets, SharePoint file dumps, and manual workarounds. Because our company does not have a dedicated analytics department, your first mission will be laser-focused on establishing our foundational demand planning model alongside executive leadership:
· Phase 1 (Days 1–45) — NetSuite to SQL Data Plumbing: Connect to our NetSuite ERP environment (via RESTlets, saved searches, or ODBC) to pull core operational tables (Sales Orders, Item Master, Purchase Orders, Work Orders) into a centralized, clean relational SQL database.
· Phase 2 (Days 45–90) — Demand Planning Model Build: Partner with executive leadership to construct our company-wide Demand Planning model. You will model baseline consumption, incorporate seasonality trends, adjust for out-of-stock periods, and generate forward-looking demand projections.
· Phase 3 (Days 90–120) — S&OP Dashboards & Delivery: Deliver an interactive Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) suite in Power BI that tracks forecast vs. actuals, variance metrics, and safety stock requirements, validating numbers directly against production schedules.
Ongoing Responsibilities: Expanding Across the Business
Once the core demand planning engine is established, you will expand into a versatile company-wide analyst and BI partner, tackling cross-functional challenges as they arise:
· Enterprise Business Intelligence: Design, publish, and maintain dynamic, clean Power BI dashboards for executives, plant managers, purchasing, and sales leaders to track daily business performance.
· Data Architecture & Automation: Maintain our central SQL warehouse, eliminating manual spreadsheet processes and automating recurring data ingestion workflows.
· Ad-Hoc Investigations & Analytics: Act as the company's investigative analytical engine—diving deep into customer purchasing trends, margin variances, supplier lead-time reliability, and inventory bottlenecks to uncover root causes.
· AI-Accelerated Problem Solving: Leverage generative AI tools to rapidly prototype data pipelines, debug complex DAX calculations, draft Python scripts, and adapt to specialized analytical methods across different functional departments.
Requirements
What You Bring (Qualifications & Mindset)
We care much more about your problem-solving drive, intellectual curiosity, and practical tool mastery than whether your resume matches a narrow corporate job title:
· Broad Analytical & Data Background: 3–6+ years in a versatile data role (such as Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, BI Developer, or Full-Stack Data Specialist). Experience within manufacturing, CPG, supply chain, or e-commerce is a plus.
· Strong SQL & Data Modeling Skills: Demonstrated ability to write clean SQL queries (CTEs, joins, aggregations, window functions) and structure clean relational or dimensional tables.
· Power BI & DAX Proficiency: Hands-on experience creating intuitive dashboards, modeling relationships between tables, and writing DAX measures.
· Practical ETL & Scripting: Comfort connecting to REST APIs, handling JSON/CSV data feeds, and writing lightweight Python or automation scripts to move data. Familiarity with NetSuite is a plus, but not required if you are quick to learn ERP data structures.
· Quantitative Intuition: Solid comfort with numbers, trend analysis, moving averages, and basic statistical concepts. You don't need a forecasting degree, but you must know how to look at historical data and think logically about trends.
· Resourceful AI-First Mindset: An active user of generative AI developer tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) who knows how to prompt effectively to accelerate syntax writing, troubleshoot errors, and bridge gaps in domain knowledge.
· Autonomous Generalist Persona: Excited to be the go-to data person in a mid-sized, high-growth manufacturing business where you have direct impact, high visibility, and zero corporate bureaucracy.
