Digital Assets Compliance Engineer.

ENGINEERING
Design the future architecture of one of Europe's most innovative banking networks while empowering engineers to do their best work. Role Summary As a Blockchain Compliance Engineer you will execute and oversee day-to-day compliance controls for ING’s blockchain and digital asset activities. You will work at the intersection of blockchain analytics, financial crime compliance, AML/CFT, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, Travel Rule operations, case management, and regulatory reporting. Your mission is to help ING identify, assess, investigate, and escalate financial crime risks linked to digital assets through consistent, timely, explainable, and auditable operational processes. This is a hands-on compliance operations role. You are expected to understand how regulatory obligations translate into monitoring procedures, alert handling, investigations, decision records, escalations, management information, and evidence trails. Work Model At ING Hubs Türkiye, flexibility is more than a benefit—it's part of how we work. Our hybrid way of working is designed to balance collaboration, innovation, and personal flexibility. Team members typically come together at our Vadistanbul office for two days per week during three weeks of the month, while one week each month is fully remote. We also provide additional flexibility throughout August with remote working opportunities, allowing colleagues to remain productive while staying connected with their teams. As part of a globally distributed organization, you'll collaborate with colleagues across multiple ING locations and contribute to solutions used across the bank. About the Team You will join an international technology organization where ownership, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and engineering excellence are at the heart of everything we do. Our teams design and deliver critical technology platforms that support ING's digital transformation journey. We believe scalable architectures, strong engineering practices, automation, and continuous learning are essential for delivering reliable solutions at scale. About You Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Criminology, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field. Equivalent experience in compliance, financial crime, banking operations, transaction monitoring, investigations, or digital asset operations may also be considered. Compliance & Risk Knowledge Understanding of AML/CFT, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, and suspicious activity reporting. Familiarity with blockchain analytics, wallet risk scoring, transaction tracing, on-chain investigations, and crypto typologies. Awareness of Travel Rule requirements and the importance of originator and beneficiary information in crypto-asset transfers. Understanding of EU digital asset regulation, including MiCA and related AML/CFT expectations for crypto-asset service providers. Ability to work in a regulated banking environment where traceability, auditability, control evidence, privacy, security, and governance are essential. Preferred Skills Experience in compliance operations, financial crime operations, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, investigations, or digital asset operations. Experience with blockchain analytics platforms such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, Merkle Science, Scorechain, Crystal, or similar tools. Experience with case management, alert triage, investigation workflows, suspicious activity reviews, or financial crime platforms. Experience working with Travel Rule controls, originator and beneficiary information validation, or crypto-asset transfer reviews. Knowledge of tokenization, digital assets, stablecoins, CBDCs, tokenized deposits, custody, settlement, and wholesale banking use cases. Knowledge of DeFi protocols, decentralized exchanges, mixers, bridges, privacy-enhancing tools, and smart contract risk. Experience interpreting blockchain analytics, transaction tracing, entity attribution, and risk exposure information. Experience with data governance, retention, privacy, access control, and audit evidence. Experience working with global teams, multi-country regulatory requirements, and enterprise governance standards. Preferred Certifications Blockchain, digital assets, AML, sanctions, or financial crime-related certifications. CAMS, ICA, Chainalysis Certification, TRM Certification, Elliptic Certification, or similar.
