Software Engineer, Full Stack (People Innovation Labs).

FULL TIMEREMOTEENGINEERING$153K–385K/YR

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer, Full Stack (People Innovation Labs) based in the United States.

Join an innovative engineering team building the next generation of internal products and AI-powered solutions for people operations. In this role, you will develop full-stack applications and intelligent agents that transform recruiting, HR, employee communications, and workplace culture. You will own product development from initial discovery and design through implementation, deployment, and continuous improvement. Working closely with product managers, designers, recruiters, HR specialists, and researchers, you will turn complex organizational challenges into practical technology solutions. You will also experiment with advanced language models and modern AI development platforms to improve productivity and reshape how teams work. This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial engineer who enjoys autonomy, rapid iteration, and building products with measurable organizational impact.

Accountabilities

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will take ownership of internal product development while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities and deliver high-quality solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Own the full product development lifecycle for new People-focused products, from problem discovery and solution design to development, deployment, and ongoing optimization.

    • Build full-stack applications and AI-powered agents supporting recruiting, HR operations, employee communications, and organizational culture.

    • Work autonomously while collaborating with product managers, designers, data scientists, recruiters, HR business partners, and operations specialists.

    • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their workflows, challenges, and priorities, translating their needs into innovative technical solutions.

    • Apply modern language models and AI developer platforms to create intelligent, scalable tools that improve internal processes and employee experiences.

    • Partner with research and product teams to share feedback, evaluate emerging capabilities, and continuously improve how AI models are applied to internal products.

    • Operate and expand the internal product portfolio while maintaining high standards of product quality, security, privacy, reliability, and responsiveness.

    • Gather and incorporate user feedback to refine existing applications and ensure solutions continue to meet evolving organizational needs.

    • Navigate ambiguous requirements and competing priorities while maintaining momentum and delivering iterative improvements.

    • Requirements

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial full-stack engineer who combines strong software development capabilities with curiosity about AI, recruiting, and the future of work. You should bring:

      • At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience in relevant roles at technology-driven or product-focused organizations, excluding internships.

      • Strong proficiency in modern web technologies, particularly Python, JavaScript, and PostgreSQL.

      • Experience building and delivering full-stack products, ideally taking solutions from initial concept through production.

      • Familiarity with modern AI development tools, agentic coding workflows, and emerging language model capabilities.

      • A genuine interest in exploring how large language models can be applied thoughtfully and safely to complex business and organizational challenges.

      • Strong product thinking and the ability to connect technical decisions with business objectives, user needs, and measurable outcomes.

      • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, research, recruiting, and HR teams.

      • The ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and move quickly in ambiguous environments with loosely defined tasks and competing deadlines.

      • A strong sense of ownership, adaptability, and enthusiasm for continuous learning and experimentation.

      • Additional experience that would be an advantage:

        • Previous experience as a startup founder or early-stage engineer who helped build a product from the ground up.

        • An interest in organizational culture, talent acquisition, and developing high-performing teams.

        • Benefits

          • Competitive annual base salary ranging from $153,000 to $385,000, depending on location, skills, experience, and other job-related factors.

          • Equity compensation.

          • Performance-related bonuses for eligible employees.

          • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their families, with employer contributions to Health Savings Accounts.

          • Pre-tax Health Flexible Spending Accounts, Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, and commuter expense accounts.

          • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.

          • Paid parental leave of up to 24 weeks for birth parents and 20 weeks for non-birthing parents.

          • Paid medical and caregiver leave of up to 8 weeks.

          • Flexible paid time off for exempt employees and up to 15 days annually for non-exempt employees.

          • More than 13 paid company holidays, along with coordinated company office closures throughout the year.

          • Paid sick or safe time in accordance with applicable local and state requirements.

          • Mental health and wellness support.

          • Employer-paid basic life and disability insurance.

          • Annual learning and development stipend.

          • Daily meals at office locations and meal delivery credits for eligible employees.

          • Relocation assistance for eligible employees.

          • Additional taxable benefits may include charitable donation matching and wellness stipends.

          • Remote work opportunities within the United States, with a hybrid option in San Francisco.
