We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Sales Manager to lead and scale a high-performing business development team within the financial services industry. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee daily sales operations, develop talented professionals, and drive strategic revenue growth. You will establish effective sales processes, implement performance management frameworks, and strengthen pipeline development and forecasting practices. Working closely with senior leadership, you will shape commercial strategies and identify new market opportunities while building lasting relationships with business owners, investors, and private equity firms. You will play a key role in improving team productivity, developing sales capabilities, and achieving ambitious business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to make a direct impact on an established financial services organization operating in a collaborative, technology-enabled, remote environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and oversee daily sales and business development activities, establishing clear priorities, performance expectations, and accountability across the team.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, coach, and develop sales professionals to build and maintain a high-performing business development organization.
  • Establish individual and team key performance indicators (KPIs), set measurable objectives, monitor results, and implement strategies to consistently achieve sales targets.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback, perform formal performance evaluations, and manage underperformance through appropriate improvement plans.
  • Design and implement sales training programs focused on prospecting, consultative selling, relationship management, negotiation, and closing techniques.
  • Oversee outbound business development activities, pipeline management, revenue forecasting, and overall sales execution.
  • Analyze sales activity, conversion rates, pipeline quality, and team performance to identify improvement opportunities and address operational gaps.
  • Evaluate and optimize sales processes, CRM utilization, reporting systems, and supporting technologies to improve efficiency and commercial effectiveness.
  • Guide the team in developing and maintaining strategic relationships with business owners, private equity firms, investors, and senior industry decision-makers.
  • Participate in strategic client discussions and support complex, consultative sales opportunities requiring senior-level relationship management.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define sales strategies, assess market opportunities, and drive business development initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative, performance-oriented team culture that emphasizes accountability, professional development, continuous improvement, and shared success.
  • Requirements:

  • Progressive experience in sales and business development within financial services, professional services, enterprise technology, data and analytics, or other complex B2B environments.
  • Demonstrated experience directly managing sales teams, including daily supervision, coaching, employee development, and formal performance evaluations.
  • Proven ability to establish KPIs, define measurable sales objectives, monitor productivity, and drive accountability across teams.
  • Strong track record of recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and developing successful sales professionals.
  • Experience identifying and addressing underperformance, delivering constructive feedback, and implementing structured performance improvement plans.
  • Strong expertise in pipeline management, sales forecasting, CRM platforms, and performance analytics.
  • Demonstrated success managing consultative, long-cycle B2B sales processes involving C-suite executives, business owners, investors, and other senior decision-makers.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and continuously improving sales processes, training initiatives, and performance management strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, combined with a practical, hands-on, and results-oriented management approach.
  • Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in private equity, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), investment banking, management consulting, or related advisory services is highly desirable.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate business objectives into actionable sales strategies.
  • Ability to motivate teams, manage competing priorities, and maintain high performance in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Benefits:

  • Base salary: $135,000–$160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Performance-based bonus: Opportunity to earn $70,000–$250,000+ based on individual and team performance and applicable bonus terms.
  • Competitive overall compensation package with significant performance-based earning potential.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Flexible paid time off (PTO).
  • Fully remote working environment with a digital-first operating model.
  • Minimal travel requirements.
  • Direct collaboration with senior leadership and opportunities to influence business strategy.
  • Significant autonomy to develop sales processes, strengthen team performance, and shape the growth of the business.
  • Opportunity to build and develop a high-performing sales organization within an established and expanding financial services environment.
