This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regional Sales Manager based in the United States.

The Regional Sales Manager will drive profitable growth and strengthen independent insurance agency partnerships across the Eastern Des Moines and Central Iowa territory.
This role combines strategic territory management, business development, and relationship building to expand market presence and maximize sales performance.
You will identify new business opportunities, recruit and develop agency partners, and create tailored growth strategies for individual accounts.
Working closely with Underwriting and internal sales teams, you will provide market insights, support business decisions, and help agencies succeed.
The position offers significant autonomy, with a fully remote work arrangement and approximately 50% field activity to maintain a strong presence across the assigned territory.
You will also lead sales initiatives, training programs, promotions, and performance reviews to improve agency engagement and results.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a regional market, build lasting professional relationships, and make a measurable impact on business growth.

Accountabilities

As Regional Sales Manager, you will oversee territory development, strengthen agency relationships, and implement strategies that support sustainable revenue growth. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory sales strategy for Eastern Des Moines and Central Iowa, identifying growth opportunities and establishing measurable goals for individual agencies.

    • Prospect for, recruit, and appoint new independent insurance agencies while strengthening relationships with existing partners.

    • Build trusted relationships with agency owners and representatives by understanding their business needs, challenges, and growth objectives.

    • Recommend relevant insurance products, services, and resources to help agency partners improve their performance and customer offerings.

    • Monitor market conditions, competitor activities, industry developments, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities and inform internal sales and underwriting strategies.

    • Analyze agency and territory performance data, identify trends, and implement initiatives to improve sales results and profitability.

    • Organize and deliver agency training sessions, webinars, promotions, events, and other sales initiatives to increase product awareness and engagement.

    • Collaborate closely with Underwriting teams to evaluate business opportunities and align market insights with underwriting decisions.

    • Conduct agency performance reviews and support the Partners in Excellence program to strengthen partner performance and service quality.

    • Identify agency training needs, service gaps, and operational challenges, implementing appropriate solutions to improve overall results.

    • Coordinate internal and external sales activities, including promotional campaigns, social media opportunities, co-op initiatives, and business rollovers.

    • Maintain a strong field presence through regular agency visits, networking, and in-person relationship development.

    • Occasionally participate in company meetings, training sessions, and corporate events at designated office locations.

    • Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced property and casualty insurance professional with strong commercial instincts, a relationship-driven approach, and the ability to manage an independent sales territory. You should bring:

      • At least 5 years of experience in the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry.

      • Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting practices, and applicable industry regulations.

      • A proven track record of developing business relationships, generating sales, and achieving growth objectives.

      • Required CIC or CPCU professional designation.

      • Valid insurance agent's license.

      • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.

      • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Insurance, or a related field preferred.

      • Demonstrated ability to prospect, negotiate, deliver presentations, and influence business decisions.

      • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to interpret performance data and translate insights into actionable sales strategies.

      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine commitment to supporting independent agency partners.

      • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of territory performance while collaborating effectively with internal teams.

      • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Dynamics, SharePoint, and Power BI.

      • Willingness to spend approximately 50% of working time in the field, servicing agencies across Eastern Des Moines and Central Iowa.

      • Residence within the assigned territory to support regular in-person agency engagement.

      • Benefits

        • Salary: $100,000–$125,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, geographical location, and other relevant factors.

        • Fully remote work arrangement with approximately 50% field activity.

        • Performance-based bonus eligibility.

        • Medical and prescription insurance.
