Accounts Receivable Specialist.

FULL TIMEREMOTEFINANCE & LEGAL$67K–75K/YR

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist based in the United States.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a dynamic finance and accounting team in a remote-first environment. In this hands-on role, you will oversee essential accounts receivable operations, including client billing, invoice processing, account reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution. You will manage a high volume of financial transactions while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across accounting processes. Working closely with Client Services and Finance teams, you will help resolve complex billing matters and maintain strong client relationships. You will also contribute to month-end closing activities and support accurate financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to improve workflows, strengthen internal controls, and make a meaningful impact on financial operations.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage high-volume client billing activities, invoice processing, and account maintenance, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
  • Reconcile client accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve billing issues, outstanding balances, and short payments.
  • Collaborate with Client Services and internal Finance teams to address client inquiries and efficiently resolve account-related issues.
  • Oversee client billing setups and updates, ensuring accurate invoicing information and reliable account records.
  • Support month-end closing activities through accurate invoicing, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve reporting, strengthen internal controls, and optimize accounts receivable processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial documentation and provide support for internal and external audits when required.
  • Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a similar accounting position.
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable operations, client billing, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Proven ability to manage high transaction volumes and independently investigate and resolve complex account discrepancies.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite or a comparable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, accountability, integrity, and discretion when managing confidential financial information.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, manage competing deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach, combined with a positive attitude and strong collaborative skills.
  • Benefits:

  • Annual salary: $67,000–$75,000, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, location, and other relevant factors.
  • Additional annual performance bonus as part of the total compensation package.
  • Remote-first working environment, with work-from-anywhere opportunities in eligible locations.
  • Flexible working schedules.
  • Unlimited paid time off (PTO).
  • Extended winter holiday break.
  • 100% paid parental leave.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Life insurance, pet insurance, short-term disability coverage, and additional voluntary insurance options.
  • Annual ClassPass credits and other wellness-related perks.
  • Access to office hubs in Los Angeles and New York for in-person collaboration, professional development, networking, and team events.
