Your way into the future
Join as Optical Metrology Engineer (m/f/x) and bring high-precision optics to life by developing cutting-edge test solutions that turn complex optical designs into reliable, serial-ready products. What awaits you at Mynaric
- You are responsible for development and build-up of test workstations for our in-house manufactured optical mirrors (e.g. aspheric and freeform optics) and telescope systems
- You define optical alignment and test solutions prior to the manufacturing phase using devices such as autocollimators, interferometers, wavefront sensors, CGHs for measuring surface roughness, system wavefront errors, etc.
- You support the development of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing test solutions using e.g. coordinate measurement machines
- You define and perform reliability and reproducibility studies to qualify designed tests for serial production prior to release into manufacturing
- You employ test methodology and hardware schemes for serial manufacturing test
- You closely work together with Engineering and the Operations Team to ensure optical test capabilities are procured and successfully deployed
- You work with Engineering to transition optical high-end assemblies from Design to Production.
What you bring with you
- University degree in engineering/ physics or another relevant technical discipline (specialization in an optics/photonics is a plus)
- Experience in setting-up optical alignment and test solutions with optical metrology equipment such as interferometers, autocollimators, wavefront sensors, and its relevant working tool such as Mx Software etc.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and an understanding of test automation using industry-standard solutions such as LabView, Python, C++/C#
- Good understanding of optical and mechanical design drawings (GD&T) and specifications
- Experience in setting-up test solutions for high volume optics manufacturing is a plus
- Experience with coordinate measurement machines and further geometric dimensioning and tolerancing metrology equipment is a plus
- Experience in optical design & analysis tools such as Code V, Zemax or equivalent is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English, German language is a plus.
