- Assist in preparing pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and other bakery products according to recipes and standards.
- Prepare and measure ingredients accurately for daily pastry production.
- Assist with mise en place and ensure all ingredients are properly prepared and organized.
- Support the Pastry Chef and Chef de Partie during daily operations and service.
- Ensure consistent quality, taste, texture, presentation, and portion size.
- Assist with decorating and finishing cakes, pastries, and desserts.
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and FIFO procedures.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards at all times.
- Keep workstations, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized.
- Operate pastry and bakery equipment safely and correctly.
- Minimize food wastage and use ingredients efficiently.
- Assist with buffet, à la carte, and special event preparations.
- Follow hotel policies, procedures, and grooming standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef or Chef de Partie.
- Previous experience in a pastry or bakery kitchen is preferred.
- Culinary or Pastry Arts certificate is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of pastry, baking, and dessert preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Basic knowledge of pastry and bakery equipment.
- Good attention to detail and presentation.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Creative and willing to learn new pastry techniques.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
