FULL TIMEDESIGN

Your contribution to something big:

You will contribute to an industrial research project focused on the development of sustainable packaging solutions for next-generation gas instantaneous water heaters. You will combine mechanical design, material selection, prototyping, and testing to develop packaging solutions that ensure product protection and functional performance while supporting more sustainable Bosch Home Comfort products. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Packaging Design & Development: Design and develop new packaging concepts, translating stakeholder requirements into technical specifications and practical design solutions.

  • CAD Design: Develop 3D CAD models and technical designs for packaging solutions and related components.

  • Materials & Sustainability: Evaluate and select suitable materials, with a focus on identifying more sustainable alternatives that meet technical and functional requirements.

  • Prototyping & Validation: Prepare prototypes and samples, support functional and robustness testing, and analyse the results to validate proposed solutions.

  • Supplier & Partner Collaboration: Drive and lead technical topics with external partners, suppliers, and universities (e.g. UA), managing technical discussions and coordinating the development of alternative materials and packaging solutions.

  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and manage technical specifications, Material Ordering Specifications (MOS), test reports, and other documentation required throughout the development process.

  • Design & Process Optimization: Drive design and process optimization activities, applying product development methodologies such as FMEA, DFMA, and FAM to improve packaging design and manufacturing processes.

  • Project Collaboration: Lead and manage technical activities with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners to ensure that the developed solutions meet technical requirements and project timelines.

What distinguishes you:

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, with a strong background in CAD design and product development.

  • Experience: Around 2–5 years of relevant experience in packaging design or a similar role within an industrial environment.

  • Packaging Design: Experience designing and developing packaging concepts, including material selection, tolerance calculations, and component specifications.

  • CAD: Good experience with 3D CAD tools. Knowledge of ArtiosCAD and/or Siemens NX is considered an advantage.

  • Manufacturing: Good understanding of manufacturing processes and product development methodologies. Knowledge of FMEA and DFMA is valued.

  • Digital Tools: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Problem Solving: Structured and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Working Style: Proactive and results-oriented, with the ability to take ownership of assigned activities and independently propose solutions.

  • Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
