BRG’s Financial Institution Advisory practice specializes in helping commercial banks, consumer finance companies, credit unions, mortgage banks, capital market participants and insurance companies solve pressing business issues. The work will involve execution of engagement work streams that may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature. Responsibilities Work directly with senior professionals to execute various financial institution advisory projects related to financial risk management including credit risk, valuation, capital planning, and stress-testing, liquidity, resolution planning, and model risk management. Functional areas of work encompass regulatory, risk and controls; finance and accounting; technology enablement; and business process optimization. Works on data intensive projects, including analytics, governance, and manipulation, to support a variety of financial risk initiatives. Develop analyses and financial models using transactional data and/or financial data. Generate client deliverables and make valuable contributions to expert reports Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods and computer models to develop solutions. Prioritize assignments and responsibilities in order to meet goals and deadlines. Essential requirements Education & experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, or a related quantitative field Minimum of 2 years of experience in data analysis, ideally in banking, financial services, or consulting Technical skills Working knowledge of SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, and analysis Hands-on experience with a data visualisation tool (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) to build reports or dashboards Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, lookups, Power Query) and strong general MS Office skills Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows Professional skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy Ability to explain findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders, in writing and in presentations Advanced written and spoken English Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a consulting environment Desirable requirements Foundational understanding of consumer finance or banking knowledge Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks Experience with Python libraries for data analysis and modelling, such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn Practical experience using AI tools in analytical work, for example using LLM assistants to speed up coding, querying, or documentation, or applying machine learning techniques to data problems, with an understanding of their limitations and the need to validate outputs #LI-RT1 About BRG BRG combines world-leading academic credentials with world-tested business expertise and purpose-built emerging technologies.
