CyrusOne is a global data center company serving hyperscalers and enterprise customers. With AI and cloud computing driving unprecedented demand for data center capacity, CyrusOne is growing rapidly to support the infrastructure powering the next generation of technology. Our software engineering team is small but has an outsized impact. We build and own applications that connect CyrusOne with its customers, suppliers, and internal operations. Our customer portal serves as a central point of interaction between customers and the company, while our expanding portfolio of applications supports critical business functions such as procurement and supply chain operations. The opportunities to improve efficiency, simplify workflows, and deliver meaningful business value are substantial. As part of a lean team, you’ll have significant ownership and the opportunity to make a visible impact. We keep processes lightweight and give engineers the freedom to make thoughtful technical decisions, experiment with new approaches where they add value, and take ownership of their solutions. We actively integrate AI into our development workflows, using it to accelerate delivery and expand what a small engineering team can accomplish What You’ll Do Own features from concept through delivery, translating business needs into well-designed, maintainable software solutions and taking responsibility for their successful implementation. Build and enhance applications that support CyrusOne’s customers, suppliers, and business operations, working across frontend and backend systems. Partner with stakeholders to solve business problems, developing an understanding of their workflows, challenging assumptions when appropriate, and helping shape solutions rather than simply implementing requests. Investigate and resolve production issues, using application monitoring, logs, and sound technical judgment to efficiently diagnose problems, determine appropriate next steps, and implement effective solutions. Contribute to technical decisions and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve our applications, architecture, and development practices while balancing technical quality with business priorities. What Makes Someone Successful on Our Team We’re looking for an experienced engineer who combines strong technical capabilities with sound judgment, a product mindset, and a genuine sense of ownership. You think beyond the code. You seek to understand the business problems we’re solving, ask thoughtful questions, and help translate sometimes ambiguous requirements into effective software solutions. You don’t need to be a domain expert, but you’re curious and willing to develop an understanding of the business. You’re pragmatic. You care about writing quality, maintainable software, but you recognize that engineering decisions involve tradeoffs. You understand when to invest in technical improvements and when a simpler solution better serves the business. You take ownership. You’re comfortable navigating unfamiliar codebases, investigating problems independently, and making decisions within your area of responsibility. You know when to ask for help, but you don’t need step-by-step instructions to make meaningful progress. You’re adaptable and resourceful. You can work effectively when requirements are evolving, documentation is incomplete, or the path forward isn’t immediately obvious. Rather than waiting for perfect specifications, you take initiative to clarify what’s needed and move work forward. You focus on outcomes. You take pride not simply in writing good code, but in delivering software that solves real problems. You balance thoughtful engineering with a commitment to getting things done. You collaborate with humility. You bring your experience and ideas to the team, but you’re equally willing to listen, learn, and understand the context behind existing decisions. You offer constructive suggestions and recognize that there’s rarely only one right way to solve a problem. Minimum Qualifications 7+ years of professional software development experience using C#/.NET Standard/.NET 6+, building internal and/or external-facing applications. 7+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database management system (RDBMS). Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and make sound technical decisions. Excellent communication, decision-making, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across technical and business teams.
