An MS or MFA in Graphic Design or Interaction Design is preferred. The required degree must be completed by the start date. Experience with: Communication with college-level students and collaboration with colleagues in a collegial manner. Teaching technical concepts requires an efficient thinker with a unique and enthusiastic approach to helping students. Professional experience in fields relevant to user experience design, interface design, and digital graphic design. Duties/Expectations: Teach undergraduate courses and DESGD 260/DESPX 260: User Experience 1, DESGD 362: Interactive Typographic Systems using department-approved curriculum. Courses include instruction in core user experience concepts such as usability, user flows, mental models, graphic systems, and typographic hierarchy, with practical industry-relevant assignments building digital product applications, designing complex websites, and creating unique interfaces. As with all graphic design classes, critiques will include instruction on visual concepts and strategy, communication, and aesthetic principles of graphic design. The position will require lecturing, creating assignments, grading, critiques, communicating/responding to student emails. Part-time faculty are not required to hold office hours, attend staff meetings, serve on committees, or mentor students.
