Checking accuracy—right dish, modifications, allergies, sides, sauces, etc. Checking presentation and quality before food leaves the kitchen. Communicating with cooks and servers when something is missing, delayed, or needs to be remade. Calling for servers and telling them which dishes go to which table or seat. Managing the flow during a rush, prioritizing tickets so the kitchen doesn't get backed up.
