Position Details: Patient Service Representative – Mercy Clinic Southfork Urology Location: 12700 Southfork Rd. Saint Louis, MO 63128 Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week) Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Customer service experience preferred Responsibilities: Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check‑in/check‑out Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handling Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues Handle patient concerns professionally and escalate as needed Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policies Perform other duties as assigned Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and billing processes Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills Basic computer skills, including accurate data entry Strong customer service skills with a patient‑focused approach High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy policies Adaptable, professional, and able to work well under pressure Effective problem‑solving and issue resolution skills Why Mercy? Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes.
