This unit helps build strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, acute medical care, and fast-paced patient management. Overview Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing Nursing Diploma Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations. Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit. Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty.
