About the Role

We're looking for a Director of Communications Strategy & Operations to help build and scale the strategic and operational foundations of Nscale's communications function.

Working closely with communications leadership, you'll translate business priorities into actionable plans, establish processes and systems that enable the team to operate effectively, and drive cross-functional execution of high-priority initiatives.

This role combines strategic planning, operational leadership, program management, and executive partnership. You'll help bring structure to a rapidly evolving environment while maintaining the flexibility and pace needed to support Nscale's growth.

What You'll Do

Communications Strategy & Planning

  • Partner with communications leadership to define strategic priorities and translate them into actionable plans.
  • Lead annual and quarterly planning processes, establishing goals, milestones, and measures of success.
  • Ensure communications priorities align with broader company objectives and business developments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning, prioritization, and organizational effectiveness.

Communications Operations & Infrastructure

  • Build and optimize the processes, systems, and workflows needed to support a growing communications function.
  • Oversee communications budgets, resource planning, and vendor management.
  • Establish operational frameworks that improve visibility, accountability, and efficiency.
  • Develop reporting mechanisms and tools to track progress, measure impact, and support decision-making.
  • Drive AI enablement and adoption across the communications organization, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and enhance team capabilities.

PMO & Cross-Functional Execution

  • Lead program management for high-priority communications initiatives, ensuring alignment across teams and stakeholders.
  • Establish clear project plans, ownership, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners to drive execution and resolve dependencies.
  • Anticipate risks, remove obstacles, and maintain momentum on complex initiatives.

Strategic Initiatives, Special Projects & Executive Partnership

  • Serve as a strategic and operational partner to communications leadership on emerging priorities and complex challenges.
  • Lead special projects requiring cross-functional coordination, structured problem-solving, and executive alignment.
  • Develop strategic recommendations, executive materials, and decision-making frameworks.
  • Provide flexibility and additional leadership capacity as the organization scales and priorities evolve.

Who You Are

  • Experienced in communications strategy, operations, program management, or related functions within complex organizations.
  • A strategic thinker who can translate broad business priorities into practical plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Comfortable building processes and operating models from the ground up.
  • Skilled at managing cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Able to partner effectively with senior executives, exercising sound judgment, discretion, and initiative.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • A strong communicator who can simplify complexity and drive alignment across teams.
