The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to balance multiple priorities while maintaining a positive patient experience. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, demonstrates accountability, communicates effectively, and understands the importance of teamwork in delivering exceptional care.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome patients and provide a warm, professional, and compassionate experience throughout their visit.
  • Room patients efficiently, obtain and document vital signs, review medications, allergies, and relevant medical history.
  • Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and clinical treatments.
  • Perform clinical skills within the scope of training, certification, and applicable regulations, including injections, EKGs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and phlebotomy.
  • Perform and assist with diagnostic testing, including rapid tests, urinalysis, pregnancy testing, glucose testing, and other approved point-of-care services.
  • Assist with wound care, splinting, dressing changes, and other minor procedures as trained and authorized.
  • Support laboratory workflows, including specimen collection, labeling, processing, and timely handling.
  • Assist with X-ray workflows when applicable, following required training and authorization.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Monitor patient flow and communicate anticipated wait times or delays to patients and the clinical team.
  • Prioritize patient care needs and promptly escalate changes in patient condition or urgent clinical concerns to the provider.
  • Support referrals, follow-up instructions, patient messages, and post-visit care coordination.
  • Ensure exam rooms, equipment, and clinical areas are clean, organized, disinfected, and properly stocked.
  • Follow infection prevention standards, OSHA requirements, HIPAA guidelines, and established clinical workflows.
  • Collaborate with providers, front office staff, and clinic leadership to maintain efficient daily operations.
  • Participate in daily huddles, team meetings, training, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate ownership, accountability, empathy, and follow-through in every patient interaction.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification preferred or required based on applicable state and organizational requirements.
  • Previous experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or an outpatient clinical setting preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain as required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs, clinical procedures, and basic patient care.
  • Experience with phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical documentation.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
  • Ability to recognize priorities and escalate urgent patient care concerns appropriately.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, compassion, empathy, and a patient-first mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to learn new technology, systems, and clinical workflows.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, problem-solving, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
