DEVOPS & INFRA$33–50/HR
Associate Manufacturing Supervisor (Day Shift) This is an opportunity to help establish and lead manufacturing flow lines within the Manufacturing Test Infrastructure team on day shift in Pullman, WA. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30am–3:00pm. The Manufacturing Test Infrastructure team builds test stations, fixtures, and cabling used to perform electrical tests on SEL products. As Manufacturing expands, we are growing our capacity and establishing dedicated flow lines for high-demand test stations. In this role, you will hire and lead builders and help establish flow lines that can scale to multiple test stations per week. You’ll apply World Class Manufacturing principles as you develop processes and work instructions, design floor layouts and workflows, and help manage inventory. You’ll collaborate with others to make processes safe and produce high-quality results. Why This Work Matters Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories exists to make electric power safer, more reliable, and more economical. Every SEL product is tested before it ships, and the test systems this team builds are what make that testing possible. The work you lead helps maintain product quality across every factory we support. Rapid expansion in Manufacturing is driving unprecedented demand for test infrastructure. Meeting that demand calls for new ways to build and deliver test stations while maintaining safety and quality. A Typical Day Might Include: Hiring, onboarding, and developing builders for the test station flow lines. Designing and implementing floor layouts and workflows to support a safe, organized, and efficient flow of work. Developing processes, procedures, and clear work instructions that help the team build test stations consistently. Coordinating materials and inventory so builders have what they need when they need it. Tracking build progress and addressing constraints to deliver test stations and fixtures on time to promise. Working with builders and partners to identify and reduce waste, solve problems at their source, and improve quality and capacity. Building test stations and fixtures alongside your team, including routing and terminating cabling from drawings, and setting the standard for craftsmanship. Providing clear direction and priorities for the team. Supporting team members by removing roadblocks, solving problems, and keeping people, drawings, and materials ready. Coordinating priorities and work handoffs with the senior supervisor and other shifts. Inspiring and supporting employee performance and engagement by mentoring, teaching, and coaching your team. Fostering SEL culture and addressing detractors to our values. Modeling, teaching, and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
