Senior Product Designer
Location: Ramat Gan (Bursa), Israel (Hybrid)
About Matia
Matia is at the forefront of the DataOps revolution, building a unified platform that streamlines data management from end-to-end. We empower data teams with seamless ingestion, reverse ETL, comprehensive observability, and intuitive data cataloging, enabling faster, smarter decisions with significantly less tool sprawl. Backed by leading investors and trusted by data teams at companies like Ramp, HoneyBook, Drata and Lemonade, we’re building the future of data confidence.
Design at Matia is a small team working with a lot of AI. This role sets the bar for both.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to own how Matia looks, feels, and works. Our platform takes some of the most complex systems in a data stack (pipelines, schemas, syncs, monitors, lineage) and makes them clear enough that a data team trusts what it sees. That takes sharp taste and a fast hand.
As our Senior Product Designer you'll own design across ETL, Reverse ETL, Observability, Catalog, and our AI features. You'll report to our VP of Product in New York and work every day with our PMs and engineers in Ramat Gan. Design here runs AI native: agents do much of the production work in Figma, and you set the standard they work to. This is an opportunity to define the design language of a platform data teams rely on every day, while it scales.
What You’ll Do
Own Design End to End: Take design work attached to engineering tasks from first sketch to high fidelity, and stay with it until it ships the way you designed it.
Set the Taste Bar: Define the principles, references, and patterns that make Matia look and feel like one product, and write them down so people and AI agents can apply them.
Run Design with AI: Direct the AI agents that handle production work in Figma, review their output, and keep improving the workflow so small asks, like a new connector logo, never wait.
Build the Design System: Complete Matia's design system in Figma with our engineering owner, and keep Figma the source of truth for everything we ship.
Make Dense Screens Simple: Design schemas, sync states, monitors, lineage, and large tables so a data engineer understands them at a glance.
Know the Market: Study how the best data and developer tools design, and bring what you learn into every review.
Move at Startup Speed: Same day and next day asks are normal here. Prioritize with PMs, push back when it matters, and ship.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a designer with real taste and the urgency to act on it: someone who has shipped polished, data-heavy B2B product, works fast without lowering the bar, and treats every screen as their own.
Must-Haves:
Experience: 5+ years as a Product Designer, including time at an early stage B2B startup.
Craft and Taste: A portfolio of shipped, high fidelity product work with strong visual judgment in typography, layout, and hierarchy. We look closely at the pixels, not only the process.
Technical Skills: Expert in Figma, including components, variants, variables, and auto layout, with hands-on experience building or rebuilding a design system.
Domain Knowledge: Experience designing complex, data dense products such as developer tools, infrastructure, analytics, or data platforms.
Mindset: High urgency and full ownership. You close loops without being asked, and you thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
AI Fluency: You already use AI tools in your design workflow every week and want to push them further.
Communication: Clear written and verbal English, and the confidence to present and defend design decisions to PMs, engineers, and leadership.
Nice-to-Haves:
Data Tools Experience: Experience within a data tools company (e.g., ETL, Reverse ETL, Observability, Catalog).
First Designer: Experience as the first or only designer at a startup.
Brand and Marketing: Experience contributing to brand, website, or marketing design alongside product work.
