The company is based in Atlanta, GA and is growing a team of talented and dedicated professionals committed to delivering superior software and services to customers worldwide.

We are a growing company passionately focused on solving the toughest problems for the most discerning customers.

CodeMettle provides custom software development and integration services for companies in the broadcast, telecommunications and government defense markets. Our software enables their operations centers to monitor and control the equipment, software, and networks they depend on, ensuring services stay available and downtime is minimized. CodeMettle provides an excellent learning experience for co-ops as they are mentored by software and QA engineers and share many of their tasks.

What is a "Co-Op"?

Cooperative education is a structured method of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A "Co-Op" provides academic credit for structured full-time job experience. To be eligible for a Co-Op position with CodeMettle, candidates must be currently enrolled in school and be able to commit to up to 3 semesters of full-time work with us. You will work with us full-time for the entirety of your semester. Semesters worked do not need to be consecutive.

If you will not be seeking academic credit for your semester with us, your internal title will still be "Co-Op", but your experience will be categorized as a traditional internship.

Candidates not currently enrolled in school will not be considered.

As an Associate QA Engineer, you will work as an active participant on one of our engineering teams to support the testing, validation, and quality assurance of various software products and systems for customers and internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for performing in a number of roles, including, but not limited to:

  • Executing manual functional, regression, and exploratory tests on web-based software
  • Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects in Jira with clear steps to reproduce
  • Verifying bug fixes and performing smoke testing to validate releases before they ship
  • Setting up and maintaining test environments and test data
  • Supporting customer-facing demos and requirements discussions.
  • Developing an understanding of software systems and the QA process, with exposure to test automation
  • Identifying gaps in the testing process and recommending process or policy changes
  • Gathering and providing feedback on potential testing tools
  • Attending regular project meetings to share testing feedback and updates

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • General computer science fundamentals and an understanding of the software development lifecycle (Required)
  • Strong attention to detail and an analytical, problem-solving mindset (Required)
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to write bug reports others can reproduce
  • Familiarity with test case design, test plans, or bug-tracking tools such as Jira is a plus
  • Exposure to a programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a plus
  • Familiarity with containers or CI/CD pipelines is a plus
  • Able to function well in a collaborative, team environment or independently
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work onsite in the CodeMettle office at least 3 days per week
  • Due to the nature of our work, U.S. citizenship is required to access CodeMettle company systems. We are unable to accept work authorizations.

Why you will love being a COOP at CodeMettle:

  • COOPs have a designated mentor on their project team as a resource
  • Many of our COOPs now have successful careers at CodeMettle
  • At CodeMettle, just because you are in college does not mean you cannot contribute your ideas to the company. We are all ears!
