Job Details: Job Description Pay Rate: Based on experience Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in coordinating daily department activities and communicating work assignments to maintenance team members. Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production equipment and facility assets while ensuring compliance with Tyson safety policies and procedures. Perform all duties of a processing mechanic. Operate machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, shears, and brakes. Perform welding and fabrication of chutes, chain guards, equipment components, and other plant needs. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues related to processing equipment. Perform basic troubleshooting of electrical systems and components. Complete preventive maintenance tasks and maintain maintenance records. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum 12 months of continuous employment with one employer within the last 36 months OR completion of verifiable formal schooling in a related trade. Minimum 12 months of fabrication and mechanical experience required. Welding, boiler, and electrical experience preferred. Mechanical maintenance background preferred. Must be able to repair transmission components and systems. Must be proficient with machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, shears, and brakes. Basic electrical knowledge required for troubleshooting electrical and ARC welding components. Knowledge of pipe fitting and sheet metal techniques. Basic math skills, including ratios, rates, and percentages. Knowledge of boiler and steam systems is helpful. Proficiency with standard hand tools. Welding and gas-cutting skills are beneficial. Must be able to interpret written, verbal, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must be flexible with work hours and available to work weekends. Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and in writing. Must pass the Tyson Basic Safety Test. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position. Rehire & Application Requirements Applicants must provide a government identification number to verify prior Tyson employment history.
