David Protein

New York

Growth Manager/Senior Manager.

LEADERSHIPSALES & MARKETING$150K–175K/YR

The Company:
HallPass Candy is building the next generation of candy. Our goal is simple: create the candy people already love, with a fraction of the calories, at the same price. HallPass recently launched nationwide at Walmart.

HallPass is part of the Medici Brands portfolio, alongside brands like David. This is a rare opportunity to join a breakout food brand at a pivotal stage of growth. Led by CEO Peter Rahal, Cofounder and Former CEO of RXBAR, and President Michael Tierney, Founder and Former CEO of Stuffed Puffs, HallPass brings together deep experience building and scaling category-defining consumer brands.

The Role:

We are looking for a Growth Manager to lead marketing strategy, investment, and execution across every channel at HallPass. This is a rare opportunity for a sharp, ambitious marketer to help build a consumer brand from the ground up, working directly alongside senior leadership. You will own the marketing budget and be responsible for translating investment into meaningful brand and business outcomes, balancing creative ambition with analytical rigor and financial discipline.

This role is for someone with strong creative instincts, a deep understanding of marketing performance, and the ability to move quickly from insight to action. You will be as comfortable shaping creative direction and developing campaigns as you are evaluating channel performance, allocating spend, and identifying opportunities to improve marketing effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy, Budget & Investment

  • Own the marketing budget end-to-end, allocating investment across channels, campaigns, and initiatives to maximize brand and business impact
  • Develop and manage marketing investment plans, tracking spend against budget and continuously optimizing resource allocation based on performance
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing investments across brand building, customer acquisition, creative production, partnerships, and retail activation
  • Balance short-term performance objectives with long-term brand development, making informed tradeoffs between immediate returns and sustained growth
  • Partner with Finance and leadership to assess marketing performance, evaluate investment opportunities, and make the case for incremental spend
  • Leverage performance data, consumer insights, and competitive intelligence to inform budget decisions and identify opportunities for growth
  • Establish clear accountability for marketing spend, ensuring investments are connected to defined objectives and measurable outcomes

Creative Strategy, Analytics & Optimization

  • Shape creative strategy across paid advertising, organic social, influencer content, brand campaigns, and product launches, ensuring creative direction supports both brand positioning and performance objectives
  • Develop creative testing frameworks to evaluate messaging, hooks, formats, and storytelling approaches across channels
  • Analyze creative and campaign performance to identify winning concepts, consumer insights, and opportunities to improve effectiveness
  • Translate marketing data into actionable creative recommendations, continuously refining briefs, messaging, and campaign direction based on what resonates with consumers
  • Establish reporting frameworks and dashboards that provide visibility into channel performance, campaign effectiveness, and the impact of marketing investments
  • Track and evaluate key marketing metrics, including CAC, ROAS, customer engagement, trial, and other relevant measures of performance
  • Partner with internal teams and external measurement providers on attribution, incrementality testing, and other approaches to understanding marketing effectiveness
  • Identify emerging consumer behaviors, cultural trends, and creative formats that create opportunities for more effective marketing
  • Build a disciplined approach to testing and learning, using insights to inform both creative development and future investment decisions

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a high-performing environment, such as top-tier management consulting, investment banking, or marketing at a high-growth consumer business
  • Proven experience managing significant marketing budgets and allocating investment across multiple channels to drive measurable business outcomes
  • Strong understanding of both brand and performance marketing, with the ability to balance long-term brand building with short-term growth objectives
  • Deep analytical skills and financial acumen, with experience evaluating marketing effectiveness, measuring ROI, and translating data into actionable decisions
  • Strong creative instincts and demonstrated ability to develop compelling campaigns, evaluate creative performance, and translate consumer insights into effective marketing strategies
  • Experience across paid media, organic social, influencer marketing, partnerships, and other consumer-facing marketing channels
  • Familiarity with key marketing metrics, including CAC, ROAS, attribution, incrementality, and customer engagement
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize effectively, and execute at a high level in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside leadership, Finance, creative teams, and external partners
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to be hands-on in building and scaling an emerging consumer brand
  • High standards, strong judgment, and the ability to move quickly, solve problems independently, and consistently deliver results

Benefits

  • This is a full-time, in-office role based in New York City. We work onsite five days a week- when the culture fits, it is fun to be in the office together.
  • Salary: $150,000-$175,000 per year, inclusive of bonus.
  • Company equity options.
  • 100% covered Health, Vision, Dental Insurance.
  • 401(k) with 4% match.
  • Additional perks, such as covered gym expenses.
