That’s why we’re looking for curious, bold individuals who are eager to grow and create new ways forward—people who want to join us in building a more sustainable, innovative, and inclusive world. We strongly believe that diversity fuels creativity and innovation. That’s why we welcome professionals who are ready to grow, learn, and bring their perspective to the energy challenges of today and tomorrow. Here, you’ll find a place to grow and unlock your full potential. Company Profile: Repsol is a globally integrated multi-energy company headquartered in Madrid, Spain. With a team of 25,000 employees across more than 20 countries, we proudly serve 24 million customers worldwide. Our diversified renewable energy portfolio totals over 6,000 MW of installed capacity, with a strong presence in Spain, the United States, and Chile. As part of our commitment to a more sustainable future, low-emissions generation is at the core of our strategy to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Repsol Renewables North America (RRSNA) plays a key role in this vision, with aims to increase generation capacity to between 3,000 MW and 4,000 MW by 2027. We are driven by innovation, collaboration, and purpose. Repsol offers a comprehensive Employee Value Proposition (EVP), including a holistic Total Rewards program that supports the wellbeing, growth, and contributions of our people. Join us in shaping the future of energy. Job Summary: As a Cost Control Manager, you will be responsible for building out a cost control function. This includes designing and implementing processes, deploying cost control software, integrating with SAP and accounting, training teams, and establishing a scalable governance model across the renewable energy project portfolio. This is a hands-on role, not a maintenance role. You will architect systems, shape culture, and ensure financial transparency and predictability across all projects. The position is based in Downtown Houston with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Key Responsibilities: Build the Cost Control Function & Governance: Design and deploy standardized cost control processes across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. Define cost breakdown structures (CBS) aligned with WBS, contracts, procurement, and SAP. Establish governance routines: budget approval, forecasting cycles, EAC reviews, variance analyses, accrual processes, and change control workflows. Create cost management playbooks, templates, SOPs, and training materials. Implement Cost Control Systems & Tools: Lead evaluation, selection, and deployment of an enterprise cost control solution (EcoSys, Primavera Cost, SAP PS, or equivalent). Integrate cost systems with SAP, procurement, contract management, and accounting. Build automated reporting dashboards and portfolio-level cost analytics. Interface with Accounting, Finance & SAP: Define and own the integration between project cost data and SAP financials. Align WBS, cost centers, GL accounts, commitments, and accrual processes. Ensure consistent, reconciled data between project controls and corporate finance. Establish month-end closing routines and cost accounting alignment. Training & Capability Development: Train project managers, construction managers, engineers, and new cost controllers on cost management concepts, tools, and standards. Build a repeatable onboarding and certification track for new hires. Raise the competency level across the organization with ongoing coaching. Portfolio Cost Analytics & Reporting: Build enterprise cost dashboards with forecasting, burn rate, cashflow, trend analysis, and productivity metrics. Provide meaningful insights—not just reports—to senior leadership. Identify systemic risks, cost drivers, and opportunities for improvement across the portfolio. Support Project Execution: Lead cost components of budget development during early estimating and pre‑construction. Analyze cost impacts of schedule shifts, change orders, variations, and field conditions. Monitor commitments, accruals, invoices, and actuals with commercial and finance teams. Ensure projects maintain accurate EAC forecasts and contingency drawdown. Qualifications: 10+ years in project cost control, cost engineering, or project controls. Proven experience building cost control systems, processes, and teams. Advanced expertise with SAP (WBS, cost centers, commitments, GL, accruals). Experience with large EPC, construction, infrastructure, or energy projects. Strong financial analytics, forecasting, and variance analysis capabilities. Prior experience implementing cost control software (EcoSys, Oracle, Primavera, SAP PS). Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business Degree or Accounting. Experience in renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
