Radisson Hotel Group

Stansted, gb

General Manager.

FULL TIME

Join a World of Moment Makers and lead one of the UK's largest airport hotels.

We are looking for an accomplished, commercially driven and inspiring General Manager to lead Radisson Blu London Stansted Airport.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hotel leader who has a proven track record of managing a substantial, high-volume hotel operation and delivering strong commercial and operational results.

With 500 bedrooms, an extensive meetings and events operation, and a diverse international guest profile, Radisson Blu London Stansted is a complex and dynamic business. Operating at the heart of a major international airport, the hotel serves a varied mix of corporate, leisure, airline, group and MICE business, requiring a leader who can balance strategic commercial thinking with exceptional operational delivery.

We are looking for someone who understands what it takes to lead a hotel of this scale, someone who is commercially astute, operationally hands-on and confident in leading a large, multi-disciplinary team. You will have the ability to see the bigger picture, identify opportunities, challenge existing practices and translate strategy into measurable business performance.

As General Manager, you will:

  • Lead the business: Take full ownership of the hotel's financial and operational performance, with accountability for P&L, budgets, forecasting, profitability and the delivery of agreed business objectives.

  • Drive commercial performance: Develop and execute strategies that maximise revenue, market share and profitability across Rooms, Food & Beverage and Meetings & Events, identifying opportunities to grow and optimise the business.

  • Own operational excellence: Provide visible and decisive leadership across a complex, high-volume operation, ensuring consistent standards, effective processes and an exceptional guest experience.

  • Lead through people: Build, inspire and develop a high-performing leadership team, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, empowerment and continuous development across all departments.

  • Champion the guest experience: Ensure our guests receive memorable experiences at every touchpoint, using guest feedback, quality measures and operational insight to continuously improve performance.

  • Drive change and improvement: Bring fresh thinking, challenge the status quo and lead initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen performance and deliver sustainable results.

  • Build strong relationships: Act as a key ambassador for the hotel, developing effective relationships with ownership, corporate stakeholders, local partners and the wider airport community.

  • Champion the Radisson brand: Embed our brand values, standards and service culture, bringing our Yes I Can! spirit to life through both colleague and guest experiences.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience operating at General Manager or Cluster General Manager level, with direct accountability for a substantial hotel operation, ideally within the 300–500 bedroom range.

  • A demonstrable track record of successfully leading a large, complex and high-volume full-service hotel, with the ability to balance strategic priorities with the detail of day-to-day operations.

  • Strong commercial acumen and a history of delivering measurable financial results, including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, revenue optimisation and profitability.

  • A thorough understanding of hotel commercial drivers across Rooms, Food & Beverage and Meetings & Events, with the ability to identify opportunities and maximise performance across the entire business.

  • Experience managing significant meetings, events, conference or group business, with an understanding of the operational demands and commercial opportunities associated with a large MICE operation.

  • The ability to lead through a strong and capable management team, setting clear expectations, driving accountability and developing future leaders.

  • A visible, hands-on leadership approach, with the confidence to engage at all levels of the business and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience of leading business transformation, operational improvement or significant change initiatives, with evidence of translating ideas into tangible results.

  • A strong understanding of guest satisfaction, brand standards, quality assurance, health and safety, legislative requirements and operational risk management.

  • The confidence and credibility to influence senior stakeholders, work effectively with ownership and represent the hotel at a senior level.

Experience within an airport, conference or large city hotel environment would be advantageous, as would previous experience with Radisson Hotel Group or another international hotel brand.
