Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join the team at Oaky Creek Coal Complex. In this role, you will be responsible for: Support basic and intermediate incident management process and statutory reporting and obligations Support the Health and Safety Superintendent and Health and Hygiene Coordinator in health and safety programs and initiatives Support key stakeholders in health and safety targeted visible leadership programs and conduct target visible leadership activities for both underground and surface operations Advise key stakeholders in GCAA and QLD Coal Mining Legislative compliance and safety processes. Supporting injury management and occupational hygiene across the complex under the direction of the Health and Hygiene Coordinator. About you: Experience (Minimum 2 years) in a similar role in underground or surface mining operations or similar industry and a strong understanding of QLD Coal Mining Legislation. Relevant HSE qualifications (minimum of Cert IV and experience in ICAM methodology) Have demonstrated skills in complex and intermediate incident investigations, high potential incidents and incident database management Experience in risk management and risk assessment processes. Strong stakeholder engagement across all levels on mine sites Accurate record keeping with attention to detail and ability to work autonomously Injury management experience desirable Just as importantly, we’ve worked hard to make sure you feel valued.
