The Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting activities across the Accounting organization including the preparation of monthly accounting records as well as related reporting, analytical activities and initiatives. General Responsibilities • Prepare and enter journal entries • Responsible for performing balance sheet reconciliations • Follow the company’s chart of accounts • Support month-end and year-end close process • Apply research and analytical skills to analyze current financial status, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options • Identify errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, liaising with management and cross-functional stakeholders • Prepare financial statements and supplemental schedules • Develop and document business processes ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls • Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions • Prepare special financial reports as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends Experience / Qualifications • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers Experience in manufacturing, technology, or multinational organizations. Exposure to shared service center environments. Experience with Oracle implementation, process automation, and internal control design.
