Job Description: The successful candidate will be joining the FX electronic trading technology team to analyze, design, build and support globally distributed, high availability, low-latency trading systems. Be part of a highly talented and diverse team, spread across global locations, such as London, New York, Singapore and India. Build performance-critical software supporting real-time electronic pricing and trading workflows. Practice agile software development and delivery methodologies using industry standard tools and processes. Develop excellent understanding of FX electronic trading, including pricing and risk management. Develop strong execution and leadership qualities working in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, performance-critical C++ software, including new features and enhancements to the FX electronic trading platform. Conduct rigorous peer code reviews and resolve defects and technical issues promptly. Diagnose complex latency, concurrency, reliability, and production issues using logs, metrics, profiling, and system-level analysis. Collaborate with Business, Quantitative Analysts, Business Analysts, QA, Production Support, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve platform performance, resilience, observability, and operational supportability. Work independently, manage priorities effectively, and proactively drive tasks through to completion. Mentor team members and promote strong engineering, testing, secure-development, and inclusive working practices. Participate in L3 production support when required. Provide technical leadership across complex deliveries and influence engineering standards across the wider electronic trading technology organization. Required Skills: We are looking for a skilled software developer to deliver critical low-latency front-office pricing / trading solutions to Global Markets businesses. Minimum 6-8 years of server-side C++ development experience in Linux/UNIX environments, including development of multithreaded, distributed, and performance-sensitive systems. Strong knowledge of modern C++, the Standard Template Library, data structures, algorithms, memory management, object-oriented design, software design principles, and commonly used design patterns. Strong understanding of multithreaded programming, concurrency, synchronization, and thread-safety. Experience designing and developing low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems leveraging asynchronous messaging, messaging middleware, publish-subscribe and event-driven architectures, inter-process communication, and network protocols. Ability to analyze complex technical problems independently and deliver robust solutions through the full software-development lifecycle. Strong software-engineering practices, including code review, automated testing, source control, and continuous integration. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with globally distributed technical and business stakeholders. Desired Skills: Experience developing front-office electronic-trading systems within FX, Rates, or other Global Markets businesses, including market-data, pricing, order-management, trade-booking, and risk-management platforms. Understanding of electronic pricing, liquidity distribution, order and trade lifecycles, hedging, and real-time risk-management workflows. Experience with FIX protocol and electronic trading connectivity, including exchange, trading-venue, and client integrations. Experience with KDB+/q, time-series databases, relational databases, and SQL. Experience with Bash, Python, Perl, or similar scripting languages for automation, diagnostics, and operational tooling. Knowledge of Linux performance analysis and optimization, including CPU, memory, network, concurrency, and latency profiling. Experience supporting business-critical production systems, including incident investigation, root-cause analysis, monitoring, and resilience improvements. Familiarity with secure software-development, change-management, release-management, and production-control practices within a regulated financial-services environment. Experience mentoring developers, contributing to architectural decisions, or leading complex technical deliveries.
