Launch Excellence (LEx) Practice Leadership Opportunity
Magic Hat Consulting is looking for a LEx Director or Principal to help shape the future of our Launch Excellence Practice and play a key role in the continued growth of our firm. This is an opportunity to put your consulting experience and commercial acumen to work in a growing business, building trusted client partnerships, leading high-impact launch engagements, and turning new opportunities into lasting relationships.
Beyond leading client engagements, you will help define the direction of the practice, develop service offerings, expand our market presence, and build teams that deliver exceptional results. Working closely with firm leadership, you will have a meaningful voice in how MHC grows and competes, with the opportunity to turn your ideas into action and see the impact of your contributions firsthand. This opportunity is ideal for a driven professional who is entrepreneurial minded; this role provides a pathway to equity.
What You'll Do
- Shape practice strategy, develop service offerings and go-to-market approaches to position MHC as a leading LEx consulting partner.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, effectively develop engagement approaches that align client objectives with business priorities across the product life cycle.
- Be viewed by our clients as a SME who provides valued, thought-partner perspectives.
- Lead complex engagements spanning areas including commercialization strategy, launch planning, operating model design and transformation initiatives, at the individual and team level.
- Serve as a management-level contact to lead discussions, oversee all presentations, ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Drive business development, expand existing client relationships, acquire new clients, lead proposals and sales pursuits, and contribute to overall revenue growth.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, create a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Meet performance goals, individually, and practice.
- Ensure consistency in quality of client presentations and deliverables, including proposals, strategic recommendations and stakeholder communications.
- Accountable for developing and maintaining practice standards including frameworks, tools, IP, engagement kick-off/completion procedures, etc.
- Build MHC’s market presence through thought leadership, industry insights, participation in relevant forums and development of industry partnerships.
- Support recruiting efforts by engaging with and attracting top talent to the firm.
- Embrace an “owner mindset”, proactively seek opportunities to improve all aspects of running our business and demonstrate a genuine commitment to the firm’s overall success.

Qualifications
- 12+ years of professional experience, including a demonstrated track record in life sciences consulting.
- Proven success leading complex consulting engagements in product launch strategy, planning, readiness, or commercialization.
- Demonstrated ability to generate business, grow existing client relationships, and establish new clients.
- Experience developing consulting teams, service offerings, and go-to-market strategies.
- Strong commercial acumen, excellent communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and advise senior client stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop talent and drive high performance.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, take ownership, and balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Be a leader that people want to work with, for and follow.

- Director: $220K - $250K
- Principal: $250K+
