Torch Technologies is seeking an experienced F-16 Mission Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership supporting the Air Force test community at Eglin AFB. This role is critical to the integration, testing, and evaluation of advanced F-16 mission system modifications and emerging capabilities. As a senior member of the team, you will work closely with engineers, aircrew, and government stakeholders to ensure successful integration efforts, support rigorous test activities, and help deliver high-quality technical solutions that contribute to the test mission. We value professionals who demonstrate initiative, sound technical judgment, collaboration, and a commitment to mission success. As a Mission Systems SME, your duties will include, but not be limited to: Lead the integration of autonomy-enabling F-16 modifications with the F-16 mission systems suite. Lead the Mission Systems Integration Team in the development, integration, and test planning of system modifications. Provide technical leadership supporting current and future test activities encompassing system, subsystem, component, system-of-systems, advanced and emerging technologies, multi-domain capabilities, and manned-unmanned teaming integration efforts. Provide expert-level support to Program Engineers, Test Engineers, Project Aircrew, and other program participants. Apply expert knowledge of F-16 avionics architecture, avionics communication protocols, and software suite capabilities to support successful system integration and performance. Lead integration of F-16 modifications within the Software Integration Laboratory (SIL). Partner with SIL engineers to troubleshoot installation and integration challenges. Develop SIL-specific software required to enable modification hardware and software interfaces with SIL systems. Foster collaboration across engineering disciplines to ensure efficient problem resolution and system readiness. Apply experience and sound engineering practices to support thorough test planning, execution, and data collection efforts. Contribute expertise related to Air Force Test Center (AFTC) test planning, safety planning, and test execution processes. Support test teams in maintaining disciplined, mission-focused execution throughout the test lifecycle. Experience with Eglin AFB test planning, safety planning, and execution processes is beneficial. Develop and refine Human-Machine Interface (HMI) concepts for F-16 modification efforts. Support HMI solutions that may reside within the aircraft, on carry-on/carry-off computers or tablets, and within ground-based systems such as simulators and ground control stations. Work closely with development teams to ensure concepts are effectively communicated and implemented. Participate in program meetings, design reviews, and configuration control boards. Present system designs, technical recommendations, findings, and integration status to project teams and review boards as required. Demonstrate leadership through effective communication, technical credibility, and collaborative problem solving. Support flight test activities through monitoring of data displays and safety-of-flight parameters. Serve in mission control room positions as required, including Test Conductor, Test Director, Discipline Engineer, or similar roles. Torch Technologies is dedicated to providing superior research, development, and engineering services to the Department of Defense. As defense contractors, the services we provide directly support the men and women who serve our country. From the CEO's desk... When Bill Roark and Don Holder founded Torch in 2002, they knew that employees were the company's greatest asset. They believed that offering employees a stake in the outcome, by making them all owners, was critical to building a successful organization. I share that feeling. Bill and Don's original intent was fully achieved in 2011 when Torch converted to a 100 percent S-Corp ESOP. Since that time, the company has grown over ten-fold and gained national recognition for the success we have demonstrated as an employee-owned company. Today, Torch continues to respect the individual contributions of our employee-owners and to share the rewards of our success. In addition, we continue to foster an environment of employee recognition, respect, development, and comradery while striving to achieve a healthy work-life balance. We recognize that core to our company is a culture of trust with our employees, customers, business partners, and community. Our management team is committed to continue to earn that trust. This past year, Torch proudly announced that we were Certified Evergreen™. A timely achievement for Torch employee-owners as they will celebrate Torch’s 20th anniversary this October, becoming Certified Evergreen™ signifies that while Torch employee-owners can look back on Torch’s past with pride, Torch is also looking forward. Becoming Certified Evergreen™ means that Torch has committed to finding ways to make 100 percent employee ownership sustainable so that Torch will remain a private company forever. Going forward, Torch will continue to evolve to address market and technology changes in order to become a major provider of cost-effective technical services and solutions to the Warfighter. We are making significant investments into facilities, equipment, business systems, and research to enable us to provide innovations and timely business services to our clients. We feel that always looking to improve our service is key to sustaining customer trust in the future. Likewise, we believe that continuing to share ownership is one of the ways we maintain employee trust and an unparalleled commitment to succeed. Combined, these timeless principles form the basis of the Torch culture. A culture that we are committed to continue and strive to pass on to the next generation of employee-owners as an Evergreen Company.
