The Carpenter Class 2 role provides essential construction, maintenance, and repair of wooden and structural components within the department. This role ensures that platforms, walkways, storage facilities, and temporary site infrastructure are built and maintained to safety standards, directly supporting operational efficiency and worker protection.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Advanced skills in the interpretation of benchmarks, and development of targeted, effective plans to achieve measurable operational improvements
- Ensure that prescribed safety equipment is always worn
- Ensure that all safety and legal requirements are compiled to
- Assisting in compiling accurate shift/work order reports
- Participate in required safety meetings and assist them in completing safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident report for the section/area
- Ensure that all the carpentry and joinery work is carried out in a safe way
- Trade Certificate in Carpentry
- 5 O levels
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- 3 years’ experience in Construction engineering/mining environment.
