Department Overview Vehicle Intelligence Hardware Engineering is chartered to design automated license plate reader for professional and mission critical markets in the commercial, government and industrial segments. Job Description As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be focusing on the design and development activities of highly sophisticated cameras for professional and mission critical markets in the commercial, government and industrial segments. Responsibilities include: Perform design and development activities of highly sophisticated LPR cameras for professional and mission critical markets in the commercial, government and industrial segments. Utilize Modeling & Simulation Software to create and evaluate designs, including Digital Signal Integrity simulation and schematic capture, prior to releasing the PCB layout Gerber for fabrication. Creation and maintenance of new and existing product bill of materials. Testing and troubleshooting of prototype electronic circuit boards Construction of prototypes or proof of concepts for purposes of testing circuit designs as needed, using workbench tools and test equipment. Perform analysis and design mitigation of standards and regulatory compliance issues. Basic Requirements A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering At least 5 years or more of relevant product design experience Familiarity with schematic capture and circuit simulation Strong understanding of SoC/DSP design incorporating DDR, flash, high speed sensor and Ethernet interfaces Strong knowledge of isolated, PoE and PoE+ power supply design Extensive knowledge of EMC and safety standards and design requirements to ensure that the products meet these standards Ability to critically assess and optimize the cost and performance of designs Hands-on testing and troubleshooting experience Strong organizational and documentation skills Self-motivated, with the ability to learn quickly and independently Candidate must be willing to work in Bayan Lepas, Penang Travel Requirements None Relocation Provided None Position Type Experienced Referral Payment Plan No EEO Statement Motorola Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
