Mount Auburn Hospital, United States of America

Hematologist/Oncologist.

$337.5K–437.5K/YR
Job Description: Hematologist/Oncologist at Mount Auburn Hospital – Cambridge, MA Mount Auburn Hospital is seeking a dedicated and collegial Hematologist/Medical Oncologist to join its Division of Hematology/Oncology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This is an outstanding opportunity for a physician who enjoys the breadth and variety of general hematology and oncology, values meaningful long-term relationships with patients, and wants to practice sophisticated, evidence-based medicine in a welcoming community hospital with strong academic connections. Located along the Charles River, minutes from Harvard Square, Mount Auburn Hospital combines the personalized care and collegial atmosphere of a community hospital with the intellectual stimulation and resources of a Harvard Medical School teaching institution. The Opportunity The successful candidate will join an established multidisciplinary oncology team caring for patients with a wide range of solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and benign hematologic disorders. The position offers the opportunity to maintain a broad general practice while developing particular expertise in one or more disease areas based on individual interests and the needs of the community. Responsibilities and opportunities include: Providing comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology care, including diagnosis, treatment, surveillance, and survivorship. Participating in inpatient hematology/oncology consultations. Collaborating with experienced oncology nurse practitioners, infusion nurses, nurse navigators, pharmacists, and other dedicated clinical professionals. Participating in multidisciplinary tumor boards and working closely with specialists in surgery, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, and medical genetics. Working with an on-site chemotherapy and infusion program to deliver coordinated, patient-centered cancer care. Collaborating with academic oncology colleagues, including opportunities for interaction with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the evolving Beth Israel Deaconess–Dana-Farber relationship. Teaching and mentoring medical students and residents in a Harvard-affiliated clinical environment. Why Mount Auburn? The best of community and academic medicine. Practice in a setting where physicians know their patients, develop lasting relationships, and exercise broad clinical judgment, while benefiting from connections to leading academic institutions. A diverse and stimulating clinical practice. Treat a wide spectrum of hematologic and oncologic conditions, including complex and interesting cases, without being limited to a single disease specialty. A genuinely collaborative environment. Work alongside an established team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and multidisciplinary specialists who share a commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate care. Academic engagement without a research-intensive career requirement. Participate in medical education and interdisciplinary clinical discussions while focusing primarily on excellent patient care. Eligible physicians may receive a Harvard Medical School faculty appointment commensurate with their experience and qualifications. An exceptional location. Cambridge offers the intellectual and cultural energy of Harvard and MIT, a thriving biomedical community, distinctive neighborhoods, and convenient access to Boston and the broader New England region. Qualifications Three or more years of independent clinical practice preferred, but not required. MD or DO degree, or equivalent recognized medical qualification. Completion of an accredited fellowship in Hematology/Oncology. Board certification or board eligibility in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Eligibility for an unrestricted Massachusetts medical license. A strong commitment to compassionate, high-quality, evidence-based patient care. Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for multidisciplinary collaboration. Physicians at all career stages, including recent fellowship graduates, are encouraged to apply. Interest in medical education and mentorship is welcomed. Pay Range: $337,500 - $437,500 The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations.
