This role offers an opportunity to gain practical experience and build a strong foundation in systems administration.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks

  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and operating systems.

  • Manage and troubleshoot core business applications, including Microsoft 365, Outlook, Slack, Salesforce, Outreach, Docusign, Adobe, Papercut, and Datto RMM.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft 365 services, including Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.

Endpoint and Vulnerability Management

  • Conduct IT asset management and software audits to ensure licensing compliance.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, such as updates and backups.
  • Deploy system and security patches from OEMs and software vendors using desktop management and software update tools.
  • Monitor patch releases and remediate vulnerabilities on client devices.
  • Ensure endpoint devices are fully patched, and antivirus software is up to date.
  • Perform regular security vulnerability scans and monitoring.

Network Administration

  • Support the maintenance and administration of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Collaborate with network administrators to implement network upgrades and improvements.
  • Monitor network performance, identify potential security vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate safeguards.

Security and Data Protection

  • Assist in implementing and enforcing security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct periodic security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience); 3–5 years of IT support experience preferred.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.

Skills and Abilities

  • Solid understanding of computer systems, networks, and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux).
  • Familiarity with hardware components such as servers, switches, and routers.
