Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join our St. Lawrence Region team. The Opportunity Primarily outpatient practice with inpatient consult responsibilities Average clinic volume of approximately 18–22 patients per day Diagnose and manage a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions Perform endoscopic and other GI procedures Collaborate with primary care providers, surgeons, hospitalists, and specialty teams Help expand and shape GI services across the region Practice at Canton-Potsdam Hospital and the Leroy Outpatient Center in Potsdam Epic electronic medical record Procedures and Call At least one dedicated procedure day per week Procedures performed at the Leroy Outpatient Center and Canton-Potsdam Hospital Operating room access for higher-acuity patients and advanced GI procedures Shared 1:4 call schedule, including inpatient consults and procedural responsibilities Qualifications Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology Board eligibility required within five years of residency completion Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care Strong clinical and communication skills Interest in building lasting relationships with patients and the community We welcome applications from experienced physicians and new graduates. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.
