Prep Academy Tutors of Baltimore County is looking for an exceptional In-Home Homeschool Teacher in the Pikesville area. who is ready to inspire, motivate, and empower a middle school student to reach their full academic potential.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dependable certified educator who understands that great teaching is about more than improving grades. It’s about building confidence, developing strong learning habits, and helping students become independent, lifelong learners.
What You’ll Do
As an In-Home Homeschool Teacher, you’ll provide personalized, in-person educational instruction tailored to the student’s unique learning style, goals, and academic needs. Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering engaging, one-on-one instructional sessions in the student's home.
Teaching middle school general education across all core academic subjects, including math, English, reading, writing, science, social studies, and other areas of the middle school curriculum.
Helping the student strengthen foundational skills, master challenging concepts, and complete assignments and academic coursework.
Creating a positive, encouraging learning environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions and taking on challenges.
Adapting instructional strategies to accommodate the student's learning style, abilities, and academic goals.
Monitoring academic progress and communicating meaningful feedback to the family and tutoring team.
Encouraging effective study habits, organization, time management, and independent problem-solving skills.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a certified educator who brings both academic knowledge and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
You may be a great fit if you:
Have strong knowledge of the middle school curriculum and the ability to teach across all core academic subjects.
Hold a valid U.S. teaching license/certificate and are authorized and qualified to teach in Baltimore, Maryland.
Have experience working with middle school students through homeschooling, classroom teaching, tutoring, or similar educational roles.
Communicate clearly and can explain challenging concepts in approachable, student-friendly ways.
Are patient, reliable, organized, and committed to student growth.
Can tailor your teaching approach to meet individual student needs.
Enjoy building positive relationships with students and their families.
Are willing to complete applicable screening and background-check requirements.
Have reliable transportation, access to a personal vehicle, and the ability to travel to the student's home in Pikesville, Maryland.
Are authorized to work in the United States.
Experience with diverse learners and students with different educational needs is an asset.
