Position Overview
The Director of Advertising Display Operations owns the execution and operational performance of display advertising within the Benzinga Advertising department, including direct campaigns, programmatic operations, inventory management, and ad serving.
This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring display campaigns launch accurately, deliver effectively, and operate efficiently. The Director partners closely with the Advertising Performance and Operations leadership, as well as Yield, Advertising Sales, Advertising Account Management, Product, and Engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end execution of Advertising display campaigns, including trafficking, targeting, QA, pacing, optimization, reporting, and delivery.
- Manage Advertising-controlled display inventory, including forecasting, availability, allocation, and campaign feasibility.
- Own day-to-day Google Ad Manager administration and maintain campaign and inventory configurations.
- Manage the AdOps specialist team and operational execution of programmatic display, including deals, inventory setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Partner with Yield on programmatic monetization, inventory allocation, demand integrations, and changes impacting inventory.
- Identify and troubleshoot campaign, tracking, inventory, and AdTech issues, coordinating with Yield, Product, and Engineering as needed.
- Partner with Advertising Sales and Account Management on campaign feasibility, inventory constraints, targeting capabilities, and delivery risks.
- Work with the VP of Operations & Client Services and Operations Support team to maintain scalable workflows, SOPs, reporting, reconciliation, and campaign-support processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies.
- Monitor display performance, inventory utilization, campaign volume, and operational capacity.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills
- 2+ years of experience in digital advertising operations, publisher Ad Ops, programmatic operations, or a related field.
- Functional knowledge of Google Ad Manager and direct display campaign management.
- Strong understanding of programmatic advertising, inventory management, SSPs, targeting, tracking, and publisher AdTech.
- Experience troubleshooting campaign delivery and advertising technology issues.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage both strategic operational responsibilities and hands-on campaign execution.
- High agency and strong ownership mindset, with the ability to independently assess competing priorities, make sound judgment calls, and proactively drive work forward.
