  • Develop and implement defense strategies with outside counsel; evaluate liability, causation, damages, procedural issues, and the enforceability and application of arbitration agreements.
  • Investigate claims with physicians, clinical teams, and risk management; review medical records, interview witnesses, develop case chronologies, and identify relevant evidence and experts.
  • Coordinate legal holds, evidence preservation, discovery, and document production; protect privileged communications, confidential patient information, and sensitive business records.

  • Maintain accurate matter tracking and report case status, exposure, spending, and trends; monitor relevant legal developments and recommend improvements to consent, arbitration, documentation, and claims practices.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, marketing agreements, clinical services agreements, NDAs, BAAs, and technology contracts.
  • Maintain and improve contract templates, policies, and workflows for efficiency and consistency.
  • Oversee compliance with applicable laws and regulations and conduct legal research and analysis to stay current on changes that may impact the company and its subsidiaries.

  • Contribute to building scalable processes as the company continues to grow.
  • Manage projects effectively and collaboratively.
  • Collaborate with the Legal & Compliance teams to evaluate and communicate legal risks and develop creative solutions to bridge business priorities in a changing regulatory landscape.
  • Oversee and manage paralegal and legal secretary tasks and work product.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
