Job Summary Drive the design and delivery of complex fit for purpose, business strategy-aligned, high impact, cross domain technology solution blueprints & associated solutions & build architectural capability in Dev teams across an estate. Job Description Absa CIB is transforming Salesforce from a product-led CRM into an intelligent, connected and client-centric engagement ecosystem built around a simple ambition: One Client. One Connected View. One CIB. We're looking for a senior Salesforce Marketing Architect & Functional Design Lead to architect how Marketing Cloud Engagement and Core CRM work together as one connected client engagement capability. The Opportunity You will: Own Marketing Cloud architecture and end-to-end functional design. Connect Marketing Cloud, CRM, client data, analytics, consent and integration capabilities. Design client-centric journeys informed by relationship, hierarchy, sector and opportunity context. Define how meaningful marketing signals flow back into CRM and support Relationship Managers. Translate complex CIB needs into scalable Salesforce features and solutions. Lead design assurance across engineers, analysts, consultants and delivery partners. Help shape intelligent and increasingly AI-enabled client engagement. What You'll Bring: Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in information systems, computer science, digital marketing, data, engineering or a related discipline. 8+ years experience in CRM, digital marketing technology, customer engagement, functional design or enterprise solution delivery, including at least 3 years leading complex Salesforce Marketing Cloud architecture or enterprise implementations. Demonstrated experience designing Marketing Cloud for a large, regulated, multi-business or multi-jurisdiction organisation. Deep hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement expertise, combined with strong functional design, integration and architecture experience. You'll understand Journey Builder, Automation Studio, marketing data architecture, segmentation, security, consent, deliverability and CRM integration, and you'll be comfortable moving between executive conversations and detailed solution design. Relevant Marketing Cloud Engagement, Salesforce and Data Cloud certifications are advantageous, as is Financial Services, CIB or complex B2B experience. Why This Role Matters This isn't a traditional marketing operations role. You'll help determine how CIB understands, engages and grows its client relationships, bringing together client intelligence, marketing, CRM and AI to create more connected and meaningful engagement. Education Bachelor's Degree: Information Technology At Absa, our story is not a single narrative. It’s thousands of individual journeys unfolding across Africa and beyond. From colleagues serving customers in local communities to teams shaping financial solutions across borders, Absa is built on people who bring their lived experiences, ambitions and perspectives into the workplace every day. Whether you’re starting your career, a seasoned leader or somewhere in between, your contribution is seen, valued and connected to something bigger. Our presence across Africa – which spans personal and business banking, corporate and investment banking, wealth and investment management, and insurance – exists because of the people who show up in their roles with purpose. Across Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia, our colleagues are shaping what Absa becomes in each market. Beyond the continent, teams in global offices and a technology hub support and extend the stories that prove that African talent can lead, influence and innovate on the global stage. At Absa, your story matters because progress is driven by human experience, not hierarchy. When people are enabled to bring their whole selves to work, they don’t just build careers. They help shape the future of Africa’s financial services landscape.
